Bringing Up Bates Star Tori Bates Welcomes First Child With Husband Bobby Smith

Congratulations are in order for Bringing Up Bates star Tori Bates and her husband, Bobby Smith!

According to a People magazine exclusive, published on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, the reality TV couple announced that they've welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Robert Ellis Smith IV — a.k.a. Kade.

The married pair's son was born at 7:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 in Nashville, Tenn., and weighed in at 6 lbs., 1 oz. at the time of his birth. As the new parents told the media outlet, "Welcoming Baby Kade into this world has truly been the most surreal experience to walk through together. Every moment with him just seems to glue this new family together, and we are so excited about the future we know God has in store for his life."

Readers may also recognize Bates from her family's appearances on the Duggar family's popular TLC series, 19 Kids and Counting. She and Smith, who married in December 2017, first revealed they were expecting baby no. 1 in May 2018. At the time, the 22-year-old mom-to-be told Us Weekly, "We're having a baby!! We are thrilled that God has blessed us with this amazing privilege, and we cannot wait to meet our precious little gift from Him." She added, "We're on the edge of our seats to see whether it's a boy or a girl!"

These two aren't the only celeb pairing to share an exciting baby announcement in recent weeks. As Nicki Swift previously reported, model-actress Kate Upton revealed over the weekend that she and her husband, baseball star Justin Verlander, welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Genevieve, on Wednesday, Nov. 7. While posting an adorable black-and-white snapshot of their newborn daughter on social media, the proud mom wrote alongside a heart emoji, "Genevieve Upton Verlander 11.7.18." 

Meanwhile, Marvel star Josh Brolin and his entrepreneur wife, Kathryn Boyd, welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Westlyn Reign, on Sunday, Nov. 4. As the proud dad wrote on social media at the time, "Mama Kathryn was stellar during this miracle birth and Bean is a flawless gem through and through. We are blessed to the core and appreciate so much the love and support during this pregnancy from ALL who have partaken in our journey, directly and/or indirectly. #beanlove."
