Jenna Dewan Files For Divorce Following Channing Tatum Separation
World of Dance host Jenna Dewan and Magic Mike star Channing Tatum are officially ending their marriage.
On Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, the actress-dancer reportedly filed for divorce from her actor husband of eight years in Los Angeles, Calif., The Blast reports.
According to court documents obtained by the gossip rag, Dewan cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for calling it quits. In addition to requesting joint legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old daughter Everly, she wishes to restore Dewan as her legal last name. She's also asked for child and spousal support from Tatum, who has already reportedly filed his response. In what thankfully seems like an amicable breakup, the movie star is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the former couple's only child.
This update in the celeb pairing's divorce proceedings comes six months following their headline-making split. As Nicki Swift previously reported, Dewan, 37, and Tatum, 38, shocked fans when they announced their separation in early April 2018. "We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple," the former couple, who married in 2009 after meeting on the set of 2006's Step Up, released in a joint statement on social media at the time. "We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now."
In related news, both Dewan and Tatum have both reportedly moved on. Earlier this month, the 21 Jump Street star was romantically linked with British pop star Jessie J. While Tatum has supposedly been dating the "Bang Bang" singer for a few months now, a source recently told Us Weekly, "It's new, casual and they're having fun together."
Meanwhile, Dewan is also apparently back in the dating game. According to another insider later cited by Us Weekly, she is reportedly "seeing someone new." However, the mystery man in question is apparently not "well known." Just hours after filing her divorce papers, Dewan was reportedly spotted kissing and holding hands with her new beau at a Halloween Party held in Beverly Hills. As a source told E! News, the pair allegedly "could not keep their hands off of each other." The insider added, "Jenna seemed very happy and like she was in a very good mood ... They definitely seemed like they were dating."
