Ariana Grande, Pete Davidson Make Red Carpet Debut At 2018 MTV VMAs
Ariana Grande and her fiancé, comedian Pete Davidson, are red carpet official.
On Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, the engaged pair made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, where they looked as happy as ever and packed on the PDA, E! News reports. While Grande paired a straightened hairdo in lieu of her usual high ponytail with a strapless dress and boots, Davidson rocked a casual white sweatshirt and black pants combo.
Also hitting the red carpet was Grande's brother, Frankie, who shared some detail's about his sister's upcoming nuptials. "It's a very exciting, wonderful, joyous celebration," he told Entertainment Tonight, adding, "I'm just so excited that we get to have this amazing celebration and I get to be a part of it, obviously ... I'm excited for her and I'm excited for Pete. I think its going to be wonderful. I'm definitely in the bridal party. We're sorting out everything as of now, but I'll definitely be the 'gay of honor.'"
When asked about his pop star sister's whirlwind romance with the Saturday Night Live star, Frankie simply said, "Listen, my sister's super happy, so I approve. As long as she's happy, then I approve."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Grande, 25, and Davidson, 24, shocked fans when they became engaged in June 2018 after only a few weeks of dating. Just last week, the "Break Free" hitmaker made headlines when she revealed that she unknowingly predicted the couple's engagement after meeting on SNL in 2016. As Grande recalled during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she'd had the "biggest crush" on Davidson after the two collaborated on skits for the show in the writer's room. "I jokingly said to my tour manager — I was like, 'I'm marrying him 100 percent,'" she told Fallon. "I was like, 'I'm literally marrying him.'"
Grande, who's been nominated for five awards, including the coveted Video of the Year for "No Tears Left To Cry," is fresh off the release of her latest album, Sweetener — which famously includes a track named after Davidson. She's set to perform her latest single, "God Is A Woman," during the event.
The 35th annual VMAs are airing live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on MTV starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 20.
