Dane Cook Talks 26-Year Age Gap Between Himself And Girlfriend Kelsi Taylor
Dane Cook is sharing an inside look at his relationship with 19-year-old musician Kelsi Taylor.
On Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, the 46-year-old stand-up comedian joked about the couple's 26-year age gap while participating in a Q&A session on his Instagram Stories.
"The only thing you have to do is plan that your deaths will be somewhat far apart," he replied to a fan who'd asked for any advice he might have for other couples with a similar age difference, before revealing his and Taylor's real-life meet-cute. "We met at a [game night] I host at my place. We were friends for a while & soon after fell in like with each [other] and then upgraded to love."
After confessing that the pair are "hooked" on The Handmaid's Tale, Cook went on to gush about his much younger girlfriend, writing, "Kelsi is smart, kind, creative, loyal & honest." However, in true self-deprecating fashion, he then quipped, "As for me, I think Kelsi would [say] I'm tolerable. LOL."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Cook and Taylor made headlines in January 2018 when media outlets finally caught wind of their longtime romance. By then, the happy couple had already been quietly dating for about a year. At the time, the Good Luck Chuck star, who was previously romantically linked with the likes of Jessica Simpson, Julianne Hough, and Miley Cyrus, took to social media to gush over his singer-songwriter girlfriend, who has performed as a backup vocalist for Demi Lovato and Little Big Town.
"I'm grateful to my friends and fans who continue to support my artistic endeavors. I can't get to where I'm going without this foundation of support," he wrote on Instagram, before giving a shout-out to "my gf @itskelsitaylor who quite simply is a gift. #bestlaughs."
Surprising age difference aside, Cook and Taylor not only seem to still be going strong these days, but they also have the approval and support of their loved ones. "I do love her family and we are pretty close and do dinner and hang," the comedian revealed during his recent Instagram Live Q&A. "My family pretty much died years ago but @_courtneycook_ my sister [likes] Kelsi a lot."
