Carrie Underwood Expecting Second Child With Husband Mike Fisher
American Idol alum and country music superstar Carrie Underwood just announced that she's pregnant!
In a series of videos posted to her Instagram account, the "Before He Cheats" singer made a couple of huge announcements — but none were bigger than the reveal that she is expecting her second child with husband and former NHL pro Mike Fisher. After sharing that she will be going on tour in May 2019, she said, "You might be wondering or asking, 'Carrie, why is your tour starting in May?'" The video, which had been focused on just Underwood's head and torso, then zoomed out to show balloon letters floating above her that spelled out "Baby."
"Yay!" Underwood exclaimed. "Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another little fish to our pond!"
Noting that her upcoming album and her current pregnancy have been "a dream come true," the 35-year-old continued, "We are just so excited and just so glad that you guys can share in this with us and be a part of this with us. I love you guys. We'll see you on the road in 2019. Have a great day!"
While fans will be excited to learn of Underwood's big news, the Cry Pretty artist did leave followers without some major details about her pregnancy, including her due date and the sex of her baby. So, we'll all just have to wait in eager anticipation for her to share that info with us.
Underwood, who gave birth to son Isaiah in February 2017, previously opened up about her desire to have more children in an August 2018 interview with Redbook magazine — though, at the time, she didn't seem hopeful that she could get pregnant again. "I'm 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family," she shared. "We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older."
Fortunately for Underwood and Fisher, they obviously didn't miss their chance to grow their family naturally after all. Congratulations to the happy couple!
