RHOC: How Tamra Judge And Jeana Keough's Years-Long Feud Began
"The Real Housewives of Orange County" star Tamra Judge has run the friendship gamut on the show. She is making her comeback in Season 17 and is already being called out for her behavior. People reported that in a preview for the upcoming season, Gina Kischenheiter noted, "Tamra talks a lot of s*** about her friends and that makes her a little dangerous." Take her relationship with former "RHOC" housewife Jeana Keough, for instance. Judge and Keough were pretty close at one point with her telling Us Weekly, "We were all like sisters in the beginning ... Our kids all were raised together for five or six years." But their sisterhood turned sour with Judge once commenting on Keough's weight loss, "Jeana looks great. She just has a nasty soul!" But it seems as if the fences have been mended since their epic showdown.
"The Real Housewives of Orange County" star Tamra Judge took to Twitter to show fans that feuds belong in the past. The twosome smiled for the camera, with Judge holding Keough around her shoulders. The TV personality, who will be returning to the Bravo show, posted a snap of her and Jeana Keough. She captioned the image, "Ran into an old friend today. No red wine or cyst [sic] and deceased papers were thrown. #RHOC." The infamous fight would lay the groundwork for years of bickering between Judge and Keough.
Tamra Judge serves Jeana Keough legal docs with a splash of wine
Tamra Judge and Jeana Keough had partygoers passing the popcorn when the two got into a physical altercation. During the Season 6 finale party, Judge confronted Keough because of comments the latter had allegedly made to the press about her separation from her then-husband Simon Barney. Judge later told Bravo, "I asked her nicely several times to please stop talking to the press." Judge told Keough, "I'm disgusted at the human being that you've turned into." She then got into Keough's face and told her that her separation was not her business. "Stay out of my life," she seethed before serving Keough with cease and desist papers.
Keough threatened, "Don't touch me. I'll throw your skinny little a** in the pool." Before Keough could even think of carrying out her threat, Judge threw her red wine in Keough's face. Keough retaliated and also took aim. However, her wine soiled another guest's $1,500 dress. When Keough tried to leave, Judge reappeared and they delivered their final parting shots. Keough's friend flung a wine glass at Judge before storming off with the real estate agent.
As Vicki Gunvalson's daughter, Briana, remarked, "I thought this was a classy party." Classy or not, production assistant Lauren Kaylor pointed out to Bravo that the altercation would become a defining moment for Judge. "That's when I think Tamra changed from being a catty girl to a supervillain who everyone loved to hate," she stated.
Tamra Judge and Jeana Keough's take on the wine throwdown
"The Real Housewives of Orange County" stars Tamra Judge and Jeana Keough have spoken out about their feud over the years. While it may have been one of Judge's most memorable moments, she does not seem particularly proud of how she handled it. She told Bravo's Daily Dish in 2015, "I still hear about it, still hear about it. And there's been a lot of other franchises that have done it since mine—I think I was the first to do that, and I just cringe." And in 2018, she was asked again about the time she lost it with Keough. Per Bravo, the Vena CBD founder said, "It was a horrible thing that I did; let's just get that straight."The mother of four seems to have regrets about the confrontation, even though it secured her villain status forever.
Keough has also spoken out about the showdown. In a 2021 interview with Us Weekly, she revealed that she had to deal with the fallout of the fight for at least a week after the fight. "It was maybe a week and a half of [eye] drops and dilated my eyes. It burned. It was like a full glass of wine," she said. Keough compared the sensation of the wine in her eyes to the stinging sensation one might experience with lemons or alcohol. However, if the tweet is anything to go by, it's all wine under the bridge anyway.
