Jane The Virgin's Gina Rodriguez Sparks Engagement Rumors

Congratulations may be in order for actress Gina Rodriguez, who's reportedly engaged to her longtime boyfriend, actor-model Joe LoCicero.

On Monday, July 30, 2018, the Jane the Virgin star sparked engagement rumors with an Instagram post celebrating her 34th birthday while the couple vacationed in Mexico.

"34," she wrote, captioning a snapshot of herself showing off a gorgeous diamond ring on her left hand. Rodriguez went on to share a quote by artist Frida Kahlo, writing, "They thought I was a Surrealist, but I wasn't. I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality." The actress also posted a sweet pic of the happy couple cozying up on the beach on her Instagram Stories — again with that ring on full display. 

For his part, LoCicero shared a photo of his rumored fiancée, but made no mention of her latest accessory in the caption. Instead, he simply wrote, "Happy Birthday my Love!"

At the time of this writing, the cute pair have yet to comment on the reports of their engagement. However, sources have reportedly confirmed the exciting news to Us Weekly. 

As Rodriguez revealed during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan in November 2017, she and LoCicero, 31, first met on the set of Jane the Virgin in 2016. At the time, her future beau played a stripper on the hit CW series. While nothing happened between the two at first, they bumped into one another again six months later while boxing at the gym. 

The actress, who previously opened up about her Muay Thai boxing training, recalled their serendipitous meeting, saying, "He thought I was being nice to him because I am nice to everyone that comes on the show."  She added, "So he thought I was just being super sweet to him, and I thought he was just being sweet on me because I'm the lead."

Rodriguez and LoCicero aren't the only celeb pairing to make headlines with a rumored engagement this summer. Just last week, multiple media outlets speculated that Nick Jonas had proposed to Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra after just two months of dating. The "Jealous" singer reportedly popped the question on his girlfriend's 36th birthday in London earlier this month. While neither have publicly commented on the news, a source cited by People magazine said, "They are so happy."
