What Kelly Ripa's Daughter Lola Consuelos Studied At College

There's nothing much left to learn about Kelly Ripa but still a lot about Lola Consuelos. Ripa's daughter is vocal about how she's grossed out by her mom's love of spilling TMI, often embarrassing her and Mark Consuelos' kids by boasting about their achievements. Still, she's got good reason to be proud. Per People, Lola, 21, studied at New York University, and Michael Consuelos, 25, is also an NYU alum.

Ripa complained on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" that her kids refused to leave Manhattan despite her encouraging them to expand their horizons. "I didn't think the kids should live in the city where they grew up," Ripa said. "I felt like they needed an experience, like California, Texas, or somewhere in the Midwest." However, she said Lola and Michael were set on NYU, which she accepted under the proviso that they stayed on campus as she and Mark needed "to rediscover each other."

So, Ripa must have been ecstatic when their youngest son, Joaquin Consuelos, 20, was accepted into the University of Michigan's wrestling team in 2021. Mark was equally thrilled, and both parents boasted about the news on their Instagram stories. Money's clearly not an issue for the couple; still, U-M costs considerably less than the prestigious New York University. NYU's website lists annual fees at around $90,600, with the average student taking four years to graduate. So, what was it that Kelly Ripa's daughter Lola Consuelos studied at college, and more importantly, was it worth $362,000?

Entertaining runs in the genes

When Lola Consuelos studied at college, she decided to stay close to home and attend NYU rather than flee her super-protective parents' watchful eyes. College Factual reports that NYU ranks best for studying dental hygiene. However, the teen isn't interested in people's mouths; she's all about their ears. Per Entertainment Tonight, Lola studied music at college.

NYU is in the USA's top five for music studies but ranks number 14 overall. Given that Kelly Ripa told Daily Pop that she and Mark Consuelos' kids think they're "lame and old and embarrassing and humiliating," it's a shocker Lola didn't want to get out of Dodge, STAT. Although, it's not all that surprising when you consider that she'd have to relocate from Manhattan to Evanston, Illinois, home to Northwestern University, to attend the top music hub of the academic world. Evanston. Who knew? (aside from College Factual).

Still, it's most likely that Lola didn't want to leave her boyfriend in NYC for all those years while she hit up the Prairie State. Elle reports that Lola's been dating soccer star Tarek Fahmy for years, and things are hot and heavy. "Happy birthday to my best friend in the whole entire world. 20!!!!!" She posted on Fahmy's big day. "My whole heart. No one compares to you! You make me so so proud; every day, I love you more." And, it transpires that Lola's NYU music studies have served her just fine, Northwestern or not.

She's heading for the big time

Kelly Ripa's daughter, Lola Consuelos, aced her music studies. Page Six said she graduated on May 18, and her family was there to celebrate her big day. Mom and Dad took to Instagram to laud their daughter's achievements. Ripa posted a video montage of photos of Lola posing in a silver dress in front of giant balloons and then dressed in her purple graduation gown and black cap, set to "Whatever Lola Wants" by Ella Fitzgerald. "Lola Gets!" Ripa captioned the post, admitting how proud they are of her. "Congratulations Lola!!! We love you!!" Mark Consuelos captioned his own montage of pics.

The graduate isn't wasting any time starting her new chapter. Ripa's daughter is already prepared to embark on her new career path. She released her first single, "Paranoia Silverlining," in August 2022. The soulful ballad featured the singer JoJo and was released on Lola Records.

"I've been making music since I was 14 years old and never really had anything that I thought was legitimate enough to write about or something that resonated with me," Lola told People, sharing that as she clocked up the years, she gained a wealth of material to write about. "As I've gotten older, I have a lot more life experience in terms of relationships and friendships. It was a good introduction to the type of music I like to make and what I like to speak about."
