The Unusual Way Miley Cyrus Met Her Boyfriend Maxx Morando

From Cody Simpson to Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus has had her share of high-profile relationships. Cyrus and Simpson's romance lasted almost a year, with the swimmer revealing, "It's kinda of a mutual decision between us, just knowing that we were going in different directions in our life," per Billboard. He added that their split was a "no hard feelings thing. We were going in different places. [We had] a very great, amazing year together." On the other hand, Hemsworth and Cyrus had plenty of ups and downs that included a called-off engagement and marriage, per Today. Their divorce was finalized in 2020.

Cyrus was introduced to her former exes in fairly conventional ways. Regarding Simpson, Cyrus told Harper's Bazaar, "We both met back in the day when we were partying a lot." As for Hemsworth, the "Wrecking Ball" singer met the actor while filming "The Last Song" in 2009. Cyrus is now dating Maxx Morando, and the way that this hot new couple met is a little more outside the box.

So, how did Miley Cyrus meet her boyfriend Maxx Morando? In a May interview with Vogue, Cyrus revealed, "We got put on a blind date. Well, it was blind for me and not really for him. I thought, 'The worst that can happen is I leave.'" Needless to say, she didn't leave, as sparks flew between them.

Cyrus and Morando have been connected for a couple of years. Back in November 2021, Cyrus posted a photo of them at the Gucci Love Parade fashion show on Instagram. In January 2022, the two were seen backstage at "Miley's New Year's Eve Party" special, per Us Weekly. A month later, an insider told the outlet the pair was "exploring things and seeing where it goes." Over the next several months, they were spotted on numerous outings. Fast forward to March 2023 and the couple was photographed hand-in-hand at Cyrus' release party for her album "Endless Summer Vacation," per Hollywood Life.

It's no surprise that Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando clicked upon meeting, as they have a lot in common. According to People, Morando is a multi-talented instrumentalist who plays guitar and drums. He's the drummer for Los Angeles-based alternative rock band Liily. In addition, he teamed up with Cyrus on "Endless Summer Vacation." In March, he took to Instagram to share that he produced the songs "Handstand" and "Violet Chemistry." In 2022, an insider told E! News, "They are both artistic and creative, so they bond over being musicians."

As it turns out, Morando is also a fashion designer. In September 2021, Cyrus told Vogue that he took part in creating a look for her performances at Summerfest in Milwaukee and Atlanta's Music Midtown festival. Donning a colorful jacket and shorts combo with whimsical designs, she shared, "This look is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between two of my favorite emerging artists, Maxx Morando and Shane Kastl. Shane used existing pieces I've collected over time and customized Maxx's cartoon characters [within] his construction." She was highly complimentary of Morando, adding, "Their collaboration is the perfect example of sustainability becoming the next fashion phase, and it proves that anything can be reinvented, which resonates with me deeply."
