How Many Tattoos Does Brooklyn Beckham Have? (Spoiler — He Lost Count)
Like father, like son. At least that's the case with David Beckham and the oldest of his offspring, Brooklyn Beckham. No, he's not a retired world-class premier league soccer player (or footballer to any readers across the pond). But he does have the pretty boy looks, a hot wife, and a body covered in tattoos, just like his good old dad.
According to Men's Health, David had an estimated 67-80 tattoos at the last count, each with a special meaning to the former athlete. The magazine praises his "consistent style and iconography choices, including religious and renaissance artwork as well as cursive lettering." David uses the same tattooist for most of his work, the London-based artist Mark Mahoney.
"I have a handful of people who will get tattooed all the time, but not as much as David. He is the only one who doesn't feel pain. He sits amazing and is the ideal customer," Mahoney told the Daily Star. "It's as if he's at one with the universe when he's getting tattooed. He is very tough," he added. David even has a sweet tattoo for his son Brooklyn, which references his childhood nickname. He posted a photo on Instagram showing "Buster" inked across the side of his neck with a heart underneath. "I've always called Brooklyn (Buster) since the day he was born... Love you, Bust," David captioned the pic. So, how many tattoos does Brooklyn Beckham have? Spoiler — He has lost count.
Like father, like son
Brooklyn Beckham may not have inherited his dad, David Beckham's mad skills for performing pinpoint crosses inside the box (positioning the football for a teammate to score a goal — for any non-soccer fans), but he did get his love of tattoos. And then some. As is the UK law, Brooklyn had to wait until 18 to get his first piece of ink. However, he was seriously off to the races once he'd gotten started. And despite his young age, he's already beaten his father in the number stakes. Because once you start, you just can't stop.
"American Idol" alum-turned-Oscar-winner-turned-talk show host Jennifer Hudson quizzed Brooklyn about his tattoo collection, asking him how many he has. "In between like 80 to 100, I'm not really sure," he admitted. "But quite a few." As for his latest piece of work? It seems that Brooklyn can't get enough of his wife Nicola Peltz's face, as he got an enormous tattoo of it on his arm. He said that on the same day, he had her portrait added to his skin; he also "got some of the lyrics to the song [they] walked down the aisle to" tattooed underneath the portrait.
Entertainment Tonight reports that, like his dad, Brooklyn worked with the artist of celebrity choice, Mark Mahoney, for his first tattoo. And he drew on his father for inspiration, getting an image of a Native American in homage to (one of) his dad's torso tattoos.
He's dedicated dozens of tattoos to his wife
Brooklyn Beckham clearly adores his father, David Beckham. His first of what would become an eye-watering extensive collection of tattoos was in homage to the father-of-four. "Thank you so much, Mark x just like dads," Brooklyn captioned a photo of his father's favorite tattooist inking his forearm.
Just like his famous dad, Brooklyn's inkings all have special meaning to him. In tattoo circles, it's often believed to be the kiss of death to have a partner's name or any reference to them etched onto your skin. Still, Brooklyn clearly doesn't believe in superstition. Because most of his tattoos — around 70, in fact — are all dedicated to his wife, Nicola Peltz. USA Today reports that rather than feeling a little unnerved or pressured by her husband covering himself in permanent tributes, Peltz is positively overwhelmed with emotion. "She always cries when I get her another tattoo," Brooklyn told the paper. "I always love to surprise her with new ink."
Brooklyn gives a nod to his dad with other tattoos he has. Like David, he has "Buster" tattooed on him — although Brooklyn chose his stomach (ouch!) rather than his neck. And, per People, he also has tributes to his family, including his dad's famous Manchester United jersey number, "7," and his father's year of birth, "1975." Then he also has a rose-embellished heart for his mom, Victoria Beckham, and a cute ballet dancer for his little sister, Harper Beckham.
