Strange Things About Kaley Cuoco's Marriage
Kaley Cuoco experienced a devastating heartbreak when she and tennis player, Ryan Sweeting, announced they were ending their marriage in September 2015 after 21 months of less-than-blissful holy matrimony. While speaking of the divorce, the actress told People magazine that "everything ended the way it was supposed to." And soon enough, she was giving love another shot when she met professional equestrian Karl Cook at a horse show on Valentine's Day 2016. A beyond emotional proposal took place in November 2017, followed by a mad dash to the altar to become husband and wife in the following June.
Millions of The Big Bang Theory starlet's fans have hit the "follow" button on her social media accounts to watch this romance unfold. And in between the lovey-dovey pictures and videos of the duo looking absolutely smitten, there are some instances where things get weird. Really weird. Together, the duo known as KCSQUARED is all about being happy, spending time with animals, and getting buck naked all in the name of sharing their love for one another to the world. If that sounds perplexing to you, just wait until you see the rest of the weird things surrounding Kaley Cuoco's marriage.
A fake proposal at Kaley Cuoco's local Target
Their November 2017 engagement, which just so happened to be on Kaley Cuoco's birthday, was one for the books, complete with a teary-eyed Cuoco accepting Karl Cook's proposal. However, just hours before it all went down, Cook teased his then-girlfriend during a trip to Target. He captured the moment in an Instagram photo when he presented the actress with a giant fake ring from the retailer, along with a caption that read, "On my loves [sic] birthday I got her everything she has always wanted....now judging by her face maybe not, it's the thought that counts right."
Judging by Cuoco's face in the picture, she was none too pleased by the faux proposal. But, of course, things changed just hours later when he officially asked her to be his wife. Crisis averted!
Joking around with your loved one is fun and all, but we can literally see the disappointment in Cuoco's eyes during his prank proposal. Not cool, Karl.
Karl Cook loves to get naked, and Cuoco loves to film it!
Just days after her wedding to Karl Cook, Kaley Cuoco underwent a pre-planned shoulder surgery, and her new hubby was right by her side to lead her down the road to recovery. The couple spent a lot of time at home in the days following the procedure to allow The Big Bang Theory star enough time to recuperate. We're sure too many painkillers weren't needed though because Cook proved that laughter was the best medicine. It's just too bad they were the only ones laughing.
In a series of videos posted to her Instagram Stories (via News.com.au), Cuoco filmed her husband as he rummaged through their fridge for food. Oh, and did we mention he was completely in the nude?! Thankfully, some strategically placed furniture covered Cook's nether regions. However, it wouldn't be the last time the primetime actress filmed her beau in the buff. A second video showed Cook lying in bed underneath the covers. The caption on the video read, "Is Karl naked under this blanket?" Yeah, we'll take, "No one cares" for $500, Alex.
A couple lounging around the house stark naked is nothing new, but do they have to share every intimate moment with the world? Some things are better kept private and far away from the prying eyes of millions of Instagram followers!
Donations in lieu of wedding gifts
Before tying the knot, engaged couples can bond and get in some major retail therapy together by creating their wedding registry. Loading up a wishlist full of blenders, crystal glasses, and toaster ovens will never go out of style ... unless you're Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook, of course.
As the second highest-paid TV actress, it's likely Cuoco has every gadget and kitchen appliance ever made. And Cook isn't chopped liver either. According to Yahoo!, his mom, Signe Ostby, is a co-founder of Wisconsin School of Business's Center For Brand and Product Management, and she also launched a software company in 1982. His father, Scott Cook, founded Intuit finance in 1983, and has an estimated net worth of $4 billion. So, yeah, the Cook family is basically ballin'.
What do you get a couple who has everything? In lieu of wedding gifts, Cook asked their guests to bring donations for an animal rescue organization called Paw Works. Later, Cuoco revealed how successful their donation drive went. "Wow did everyone come through!!! Unbelievable donations and gifts for our 4 legged friends. Thank you to everyone, what an incredible turn out [sic]! We feel so blessed and happy!!" her Instagram caption read, in part. What an amazing and selfless act, don't you agree?
On the flip side, although the donations went to a great cause, we're sure their loved ones would've loved to give the couple sentimental wedding gifts that they'd remember for a lifetime.
Kaley Cuoco's 'one of those crazies'
Since she has a tendency to go from 0 to 100 real quick in terms of her relationships, it's no surprise that Cuoco also has some strange habits when she's head-over-heels in love, too.
During their courtship, the couple would routinely spend some days apart at their respective barns, with Cook's located up north in San Gregorio, Calif. and Cuoco's situated in Simi Valley, Calif. Despite the 400 miles of distance between them, the duo found ways to remain in contact with one another. While speaking to the New York Post, Cuoco stated, "I'm one of those crazies where I want to talk to my guy a hundred times a day, and he wants to, too!"
As husband and wife, they're now shacking up together, which hopefully curbs Cuoco's need to be in constant contact, but we doubt it.
Talking to someone incessantly throughout the day just seems ... excessive. Or maybe we're the crazy ones here?
Karl Cook's her 'horse guy'
On Valentine's Day 2016, Kaley Cuoco was at a horse show in Palm Springs, Calif., and it was there where she met pro horse jumper and breeder, Cook. According to the New York Post, following the show, Cook rode up to Cuoco's barn on his motorized bike, along with a bottle of champagne. Telling the publication that he'd invited her to dinner that same night, Cuoco shared that they'd "been completely inseparable ever since. So weird. Literally, boom."
She continued to gush about Cook in an interview with The Talk (via People). Besides saying their pairing was "very meant to be," she also called Cook "[her] horse guy." The actress added, "He's an amazing, amazing rider and jumper, amazing equestrian and a great human. We share our passion for horses and dogs and all that and it's been lovely, so I'm so happy."
Most people opt for typical terms of endearment, such as "babe," "honey," or "sweetie." But "my horse guy" takes the cake for the weirdest pet name ever.
Getting cozy with an ex
Kaley Cuoco has quite an impressive list of ex-boyfriends, including actors Thad Luckinbill, Kevin Zegers, Josh Henderson, and country crooner Jaron Lowenstein, to name a few. She also privately dated her The Big Bang Theory co-star Johnny Galecki for roughly two years. Though their romance ended, the split was amicable. "We're dear friends, still. Kaley's not just an ex, she's a part of my life," Galecki told CBS Watch!
They're such good friends that Cuoco snapped a photo (left) of her ex cuddling up with her now-husband! In the picture, both men are puckering up, and it appears that Galecki was more than willing to go in for a kiss! "Ummmmmm then this happened. [Galecki] get off my man!" she captioned the picture. It's awkward enough that Cuoco has to continue working with someone who she was once in love with and play his TV wife as cameras roll. But we think it's equally as strange that Galecki and Cook are so chummy with one another.
Welcome to Hollyweird!
Is Kaley Cuoco moving too fast (again)?
Kaley Cuoco's first husband, Ryan Sweeting (pictured), moved in with her the day after they met on a blind date, as she told David Letterman (via Us Weekly), and he popped the question after just three months of dating. Unsurprisingly to most, their marriage crashed and burned, and the former couple mutually decided to end their marriage after just 21 months.
Following the aftermath, Cuoco was reflective about her failed marriage as she spoke to the New York Post. "A little bit after we got married, I started feeling like something was off," she said. At the time of that interview, she was already dating her equestrian hottie, Cook, though she promised she wouldn't rush things. "I'm trying to slow this one down," she said of her relationship with Cook. "And I'm not a slow person. I'm just not! I can't help but want everything right then."
A quick recap: Cuoco and Cook met on Valentine's Day 2016, were engaged by November 2017, and got married in June 2018. So although she did slow things down just a bit, it appears she still hasn't really learned to pump the brakes when it comes to relationships. Despite moving at lightning speed once again, we wish them the best!
Wait, they're living under different roofs?
Just when we thought Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk were the only married celebs with separate homes, usher in Kaley Cuoco and her hubby, Karl Cook. The duo revealed in August 2019 that they don't live together — despite being happily married. The Big Bang Theory star made the admission during an interview with E! News (via Refinery29), revealing to the outlet: "We have different locations that we are at a lot. We are not together every single day, and I think personally, it's important. It works well for us."
Considering how lovey-dovey these two are, we're admittedly surprised by this revelation. That being said, these living arrangements aren't forever. "We are building our dream house," Cuoco added, while noting that they "are eventually going to be under the same roof forever."
Of course, this married pair has to do what's best for them. And if this means shacking up separately, then so be it. To each their own!
Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook's strange love language
We're not here to judge how someone expresses their love, but we're a tad confused by Karl Cook and Kaley Cuoco's means of communicating with one another. What are we talking about, exactly? As Cuoco told Us Weekly when discussing how they work together as a couple: "I like to torture him and he doesn't get mad at me. He just lets me do it! I'm constantly trying to rib him."
Thankfully, Cook doesn't mind being mercilessly teased by his bride, and it seems that the jokes and teasing go both ways, considering she and Cook find it endearing to poke fun at one another on Instagram. And as some fans might have noticed, Cook often posts not-so-flattering pics of Cuoco to the social media platform to tease her — a "feud" she addressed in July 2019. "Other than our, obviously, Instagram feud, we're doing really well," she joked to Entertainment Tonight.
Although faux feuds can be hilariously charming, some may say they sometimes go too far with all of the high jinks. Plus, we find it a little odd that Cook doesn't ask for his wife's consent before he posts these snaphots. "He makes his own Instagram decisions, he's bold," Cuoco said, confirming that Cook doesn't check in with her before going public. Well, it sounds like Cuoco has made peace with her husband's social media habits. Case closed, we suppose.
