The Fan Theories About Taylor Swift And Dianna Agron's Relationship Explained
Taylor Swift knows fan theories "All Too Well." The Grammy-winning musician has been the subject of some wild fan theories, from allegedly insuring her legs for 40 million dollars to supposedly her real name being Becky. Even her relationships with friends and exes have become the subject of some crazy theories. And when Swift began hanging out with "Glee" star Dianna Agron, their relationship became the focus of fans' attention.
Swift and Agron's friendship began in 2011 when the "Glee" star was still shooting the hit FOX series. The pair connected instantly, and many would even say that Agron was one of the original members of Swift's famous squad. Throughout their friendship, Swift constantly showed her appreciation for the "Glee" actor. The musician even gave a shout-out to Agron and some of her other besties in her hit track "22" liner notes. Not just that, but Taste of Country also notes that Swift also threw a surprise circus-themed party for the actor when she turned 26.
Swift and Agron truly had a friendship like no other, and because of how close they had gotten, many Swifties began to speculate that something more was going on. That's right — one of the wild fan theories suggested that Swift and Agron were in a romantic relationship.
Taylor Swift and Dianna Agron were the subject of romance theories
Taylor Swift and Dianna Agron got a little too close for comfort, at least for Swifties. Because Swift and Agron formed such a great friendship, fans were convinced something romantic was going on between the two. And all the proof they needed seemed to be in Swift's music.
One Swiftie took to Twitter to share their reasoning on the speculated theory in a thread of tweets. For one, "Wonderland" from Swift's album "1989" was one of the many songs fans believed was about Agron. One tweet revealed that the "Glee" actor's favorite movie was "Alice in Wonderland," which happened to be similar to the title of the track. "Holy Ground" off the album "Red" was another song that included lyrics that were rumored to be about "The Family" actor. On the track, Swift sings, "I left a note on the door with a joke we made." Although this seems broad, the Twitter user believed it referenced a time Swift left a note on Agron's door during her birthday. The note read, "I'm a little [kitten] and I need to nurse because I'm a runt and I'm likely to fall victim to predators."
In addition to the music, Suggest noted that many fans questioned both celebrities' sexuality. However, Swift and Agron have only publicly dated men. If that wasn't enough proof that they didn't have a romantic relationship, the "Glee" actor has addressed the rumors head-on.
Dianna Agron denied Taylor Swift romance rumors
Dianna Agron has denied there was ever a "Love Story" with Taylor Swift, not just once but twice. In 2012, at the height of all the romance rumors, Agron made it clear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that she wasn't in a relationship with the Grammy-winning musician. After being asked if the two were dating, the "Glee" actor responded, "No, but wouldn't that be juicy!" Agron even played up the joke by blowing the "All Too Well" singer a kiss before saying, "Hi, Taylor."
Agron and Swift's friendship seemed to fizzle over the years, but the rumors never did. And in 2023, "The Family" actor addressed the speculation again. When asked about being "shipped" by fans, Argon laughed off the rumors. She told Rolling Stone, "That is so interesting. I... I mean, there have been many stories about my dating life that are so wildly untrue. That's funny."
Many fans believe they have all the proof they need to confirm that the two supposedly had a romantic relationship. But, Argon did address the "22" liner notes theory and whether she was an inspiration for the song in her Rolling Stone interview. She said, "Me [an inspiration]? Oh, if only! That's more because of a friendship than being the inspiration for the song. But I would not be the person to ask about that. I cannot claim that!" So, with Argon's denial, it seems like Swifties can finally put the dating rumors to rest.
