Justin Bieber, Hailey Baldwin Confirm Engagement On Social Media
Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are breaking their silence.
On Monday, July 9, 2018, the newly engaged pair took to social media to confirm their recent engagement news.
"Was gonna wait a while to say anything but word travels fast," the "Sorry" singer wrote in part on Instagram, captioning cute black-and-white snapshots of the two together. "Listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindLY."
Bieber added, "I promise to lead our family with honor and integrity letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make. My heart is COMPLETELY and FULLY YOURS and I will ALWAYS put you first! You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn't want to spend it with anybody else. You make me so much better and we compliment each other so well!"
For her part, Baldwin followed her fiancé's lengthy announcement with a short but sweet tweet. "Not sure what I did in life to deserve such happiness but I am so utterly grateful to God for giving me such an incredible person to share my life with!" she wrote. Complete with a heart emoji, the model added, "No words could ever express my gratitude."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Bieber, 24, proposed to Baldwin, 21, on Saturday evening, July 7, at a restaurant on a Bahamas resort. The on-and-off couple were first romantically linked in late 2015, but broke up the following year. After the Canadian singer called it quits with on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez in April 2018, he and Baldwin sparked rumors of their rekindled their romance in June.
After the news of their quick engagement broke, fellow pop star Ariana Grande spoke out against the criticism she and Bieber have received over their respective whirlwind romances.
"First Ariana get engaged to Pete Davidson and now Justin Bieber to Hailey Baldwin," a fan wrote in a since-deleted tweet over the weekend, before joking about Grande and Bieber's shared manager, Scooter Braun. "The devil works hard but Scooter Braun works harder."
In a later-deleted quote-tweet, the "No Tears Left To Cry" singer replied, "You do realize we are human beings who love and have lives ...... right .... ? And that Scooter is a wonderful human being too who cares first [and] foremost [about] our health and happiness?" Grande, who became engaged with comedian Pete Davidson last month after only a few weeks of dating, added, "Love is lit. S**t happens. I hope to God it happens to you too. [You] deserve it."
