What Rachel McAdams' Boyfriend Jamie Linden Does For A Living
Rachel McAdams has made quite the career for herself starring in blockbuster films including "Mean Girls" and "The Notebook." Having such an accomplished career, she needed to find a partner that would match her professional success, and she found it in her longtime boyfriend, Jamie Linden.
McAdams is no longer searching for her real-life Noah from "The Notebook," because she and Linden have had quite the romance. According to Us Weekly, the first time they were publicly seen together was in June 2016, when Linden took the actor as a date to a wedding. Throughout their entire relationship, McAdams has been extremely private about her romance with her beau. According to Women's Health, the couple has been so private that they have never walked a red carpet together, despite being in a relationship for seven years.
"The Vow" actor has only given fans tidbits about their family life but has never mentioned Linden by name. In 2020, she revealed to "Heroes of Health: Covid-19 Stream-a-Thon" how "bored" she would be if she didn't have her family to quarantine with. Still, a lot of Linden's life remains private. But, there is one thing we know about McAdams' boyfriend, what he does for a living.
Jamie Linden is a director, screenwriter, and producer
Similar to Rachel McAdams, her longtime boyfriend, Jamie Linden, is also involved in the entertainment industry. However, he is not in front of the camera but behind it. Linden has worked on several projects as a director, screenwriter, and producer.
According to IMDb, his first project titled, "We Are Marshall," was released in 2006, and he worked on the film's screenplay and co-produced the project. His second project involved Channing Tatum, who, in the past, happened to have worked with McAdams. Linden was the one to help write the screenplay and co-produced the romantic film, "Dear John," which starred Tatum and Amanda Seyfried.
His third project, "10 Years" was his directorial debut and was focused on a high school reunion, per Orlando Sentinel via Women's Health. Linden revealed to the outlet that he drew inspiration for the film when he attended his own reunion. He shared, "Scott and I had come back from our 10-year reunion. Tatum didn't go to his reunion in Tampa. We were explaining the shenanigans we got into. The reunion was back in '07. We started messing around with this in '08. It took a couple of years to do it."
Since then, Linden has only worked on one more film in 2016 as a writer for the project's screenplay. It's unclear as to why he took a step back from the film industry, but he also had much bigger things to focus on in his personal life.
Jamie Linden has two children with Rachel McAdams
Jamie Linden seemingly stopped working in film in 2016, just around the same time he began dating Rachel McAdams. Linden's life was sure to be turned upside down when he started dating "The Notebook" actor, but that was only the beginning. In 2018, the couple welcomed their first kid, per Hollywood Pipeline via Hello Magazine.
McAdams spoke about her son and family life in 2020 when she appeared on "Heroes of Health: Covid-19 Stream-a-Thon." She shared, "We live sort of out in the country, a little farm down the road, so we can go and look at the animals. We've been doing some planting, some okra, well, I mean, I do the planting, and he snacks most of the day." Very little is known about the couple's son, and even though it's been five years since welcoming him into their lives, they have yet to reveal his name.
The pair only continued to remain private about their second child, who they welcomed in 2020. McAdams only mentioned her daughter in an interview where she revealed to Access Hollywood how ecstatic she is for her to grow up and watch "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret." She said, "I'm excited for my own little girl to see it one day...it's very different to play a mother once you are one." McAdams and Linden may be private about their life, but there is no doubt that they have immense love for their children.
