Who Is GMA Host Rhiannon Ally's Husband, Mike Marza?
In December 2022, "Good Morning America” viewers were introduced to journalist Rhiannon Ally who was brought on to replace Amy Robach following her abrupt exit from the show. Expectedly, Ally couldn't have been more excited to be on one of the country's most popular television programs. "Had a great day at work today filling in on @abcgma3 with @demarcomorgan," she captioned a December 2022 Instagram post featuring her and Demarco Morgan, TJ Holmes' replacement on the show. But while many "Good Morning America" viewers might have just been introduced to Ally, she is, in fact, no stranger to many. Per her LinkedIn, Ally's journalism career dates back to 2005, when she worked as a Morning Anchor at WIBW-TV. Since then, Ally has worked with many more channels, including CBS News, Meredith Dotdash, and KSHB.
And even though Ally clearly loves her job, she is more than just a journalist. Off the screen, she doubles as a wife and a mom. According to Hello! Ally and her husband, Mike Marza, tied the knot in October 2008 and have since enjoyed a blissful union. Together the pair share a son, Roman, and two daughters, Camila and Natalia. But while the spotlight has fallen on Ally, fans are itching to know more about her husband. Spoiler alert: Marza might not be on "Good Morning America," but you've probably seen him on television too.
Mike Marza is a journalist
Like his wife, Mike Marza has found a career in the newsroom– a successful one at that. Per his LinkedIn, Marza began his journalism journey in 2004, when he served as a summer Intern at Fox News Channel. That same year, Marza started working as an Anchor at WIBM TV, where he covered breaking news and delivered multiple assignments up until 2006. Marza also previously worked as a weekend reporter for KSHB-TV, carrying out several duties, including traveling to cover breaking news and launching the weekend morning newscast.
Marza also had short stints working as a freelancer for different new channels, including News 12 and ABC News, where he hosted "What's the Buzz," a daily entertainment news program. As a freelancer, he also served as a substitute anchor, covering ABC's overnight news broadcast "World News Now." In 2015, the ace journalist returned to KSHB-TV, where he famously co-hosted with his wife, Rhiannon Ally, for several years. In 2019, however, after four years with the channel, Marzaa and Ally announced they were leaving. "Our journey here is coming to an end. It is bittersweet, for so many reasons, to say goodbye," Ally wrote in a statement shared on Instagram. "We'll certainly be back to visit and hope you'll all follow our journey on social media." A few days later, Marza announced on Facebook that they were moving to New York, where he would be working with the WABC-TV channel 7 team.
Mike Marzo met Rhiannon Ally in college
A classic love story, Mike Marzo first met Rhiannon Ally in 2005 while they were both studying at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Shortly after meeting, the pair went on their first date. Taking to Instagram in April 2022, Ally celebrated the couple's first date anniversary with a carousel of loved-up photos chronicling her longtime relationship with Marza. "Happy date-a-versary, @mikemarzaabc7!" she started. "17 years ago, I was a college student and you walked into a computer lab @umkcinkansascity and asked me out. On April 1, 2005, we started this journey together, and what a wild ride it's been ever since! Love you."
Similarly, Marza never holds back on taking a trip down memory lane. Taking to Instagram in September 2019, Marza shared a throwback photo of himself and Ally from their earliest years together. "#TBT to the rooftop of our first #NYC apartment together 11 years ago. Oh how our lives have changed @rhiannonally," he captioned. When he's not throwing it back to the good 'ol days, you will most likely find Marza serenading his wife with sweet words on social media. "Happy Birthday @rhiannonally! You're even more stunning today than the day we started this incredible journey together 14 years ago," he wrote in an Instagram birthday tribute. "You're an amazing mother, devoted wife, kind friend, and talented author and Television natural. But the trait I admire the most — is your genuine spirit.
