Why RHOM's Larsa Pippen Has Beef With Tamron Hall
"Real Housewives of Miami" star Larsa Pippen had some choice words for fellow television personality, Tamron Hall, following their interview together on her show, "Tamron Hall Show."
Since the beginning of her daytime talk show in 2019, Hall has invited many misunderstood or controversial guests for sit-down interviews. Singer Macy Gray appeared on the program in November 2022 to clarify some of her previous comments that were "grossly misunderstood" as transphobic by the public. In September 2022, she interviewed and ended up debating two mothers who were leading the charge for banning a memoir titled "Gender Queer" from school libraries. When the mothers accused Hall of being biased against them, she refuted, "I'll always welcome people who have a different [opinion]."
Larsa's circumstance obviously doesn't compare to the severity of Hall's previous guests, but the ex-wife of basketball player Scottie Pippen has certainly caught some heat for her relationship with Marcus Jordan. Of course, Marcus is the son of Michael Jordan, who was Scottie's former teammate and current rival. Misunderstood by the public, Larsa decided to go on the "Tamron Hall Show" to discuss her relationship, but the line of questioning may have rubbed her the wrong way.
Larsa Pippen accused Tamron Hall of being 'negative'
The months-long feud between Larsa Pippen and Tamron Hall all started back when the reality personality agreed to an interview on the "Tamron Hall Show" on February 28. The host began the segment seemingly positive, saying she was "so happy" to hear Pippen "in [her] own words." When they discussed Pippen's relationship with Marcus Jordan, Hall inquired about the couple's 16-year age difference as well as her ex-husband's feud with her new boyfriend's father. "You could date anybody in the world," she asked. "Why would you date Michael Jordan's son?" After the commercial break, Hall recounted to the audience how Pippen had confronted her during the break about "being negative to her."
In an interview with E! News on April 18, Hall was asked about Pippen's negative reaction to her line of questioning. "I think we're all entitled to feel the way we feel," she answered. "For me, [the show is] always a respectful environment. I don't benefit from an ambush interview." She also explained that her guests are aware of the topics beforehand, but they don't know the specific questions that will be asked.
Pippen definitely didn't appreciate Hall's response, as she commented on a reposting of the E! News interview on The Shade Room's Instagram. "[Tamron] was very negative and judgmental," the Miami Housewife fired off. Pippen added, "Her tone and facial expressions indicated she never wanted to have a fair conversation. If she wants to audition for housewives, I know somebody."
Larsa's 'RHOM' castmates support her happiness with Marcus
The Tamron Hall interview is certainly not the first time that Larsa Pippen was put on blast for dating Marcus Jordan. Many "Real Housewives of Miami" fans online have criticized her new relationship because of the history between her husband of 23 years, Scottie Pippen, and Marcus's father, Michael Jordan. The couple was even heckled at a SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles by someone who yelled that she was with "Mike's son."
It looks like two of Larsa's fellow Miami Housewives – Alexia Nepola and Marysol Patton – have their castmates' back, though. In an interview with E! News on April 18, the Miami besties defended the Larsa and Marcus relationship. "He's a doll and he treats Larsa really well," Patton gushed about the couple. "She's very happy and he's a very polite, awesome, good-looking guy. I think they're a great couple and I hope they last forever."
According to Larsa, she and Marcus have his father's approval, but ultimately, a relationship is between two people, not the entire world.
