Kelsey Grammer Wed His Fourth Wife Just Weeks After His Divorce From Camille
Camille Meyer's post-split dynamic with Kelsey Grammer has long been acrimonious, but that's not exactly surprising. A mere fortnight after signing divorce papers, Grammer got married once again ... to the very woman he'd cheated on the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star with.
News of Meyer and Grammer's split first broke in 2010. That October, Meyer told People that they were parting over an affair, but that despite that, she'd been willing to work through it. "I wasn't ready to throw in the towel," she explained to the outlet. However, Grammer wasn't quite as attached to the idea of staying married — or particularly concerned with his wife's response to the realization that their 14-year union was over. "I started crying and he said, 'Oh, grow up.' I said, 'What about our children?' and he said, 'They'll get over it.' It was harsh," she revealed. Several months later, the issue was featured in the "RHOBH" Season 1 finale. In the episode, an emotional Meyer recounted being forced to confront the extent of Grammer's affair through a doorman who wouldn't believe that she was the actor's wife. "I had to show my I.D. How mortifying is that? Because somebody is in the apartment as Mrs. Grammer, [but it's] not me," she revealed.
Divorce proceedings followed soon after, and Meyer ultimately walked away with a $30 million settlement. She's also gone on to re-marry, but suffice it to say, the nuptials weren't quite as hasty as her ex-husband's.
Kelsey got engaged during the divorce proceedings
That Kelsey Grammer wed his fourth wife, Kayte Walsh two weeks after his divorce from Camille Meyer came through may be yikes-worthy, but it's not exactly surprising. He'd already popped the question months before signing the papers.
In December 2010, a spokesperson for the "Frasier" alum confirmed to People that he and Walsh were engaged, and had been for some time, at that point. "They're very happy and very much in love. They never announced it because he wanted to be discreet and enjoy the good news privately," they revealed. However, early attempts at discretion aside, once the news was out, Grammer didn't hide that he was planning a wedding. Au contraire, in a January 2011 episode of "The Late Show with David Letterman," he told the host, "We're planning to get married soon ... some time in February."
And that, they did. On February 25, the New York Times reported that they'd wed in none other than the Broadway theater he'd been acting in months prior, and that one of his co-stars had officiated the ceremony. It's possible that particular detail stung a little for Meyer. After all, as she said in the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Season 1 finale, "I thought this would be a good, positive thing for him, to go do a play on Broadway, but I never thought that he would leave me." Yikes-worthy, indeed.
... and he married Kayte more than once
Perhaps getting married so soon after the divorce left newlyweds Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh feeling like they hadn't had time to focus on their nuptials quite enough — because a little over a year later, they walked down the aisle once again. This time, however, they were renewing their vows. Speaking to People, Grammer joked that it was a dream come true. "I've always wanted shot-gun wedding pictures so we can show the kids later on!" He also shared that he was relieved she'd agreed to it. "I love that she had the courage to marry me twice!" he told the outlet.
More than a decade on, it certainly seems these lovebirds — now parents of three — are still as in love as they were, then. But, Grammer has joked that Walsh has an insurance policy in place ... in a very particular place. That would be, a tattoo of her name in his nether regions. As he revealed in an episode of "Conan," it was to alert other women, "This particular piece of equipment was already signed."
As for Camille, she went on to wed David Meyer in a wedding captured on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." And, in an episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," she beamed that she didn't miss Grammer, and was "very happy" with her second husband. Guess this epic tale of yikes has a happy ending, after all!
