The Strange Affair Rumors That Swirled Between Eric Decker And Madison LeCroy
Madison LeCroy has come under fire in the past for her links to professional athletes who may or may not be in relationships ... but was Eric Decker ever one of them?
As "Southern Charm" fans are no doubt aware, in January 2021, LeCroy was rumored to be seeing Kristin Cavallari's then-husband, Jay Cutler. The pair were separated at the time, so the rendezvous wasn't necessarily an issue in itself. However, per Us Weekly, things took a turn when it seemed LeCroy was making digs at the "Very Cavallari" star, in a video based on an Instagram Live Cavallari had previously done with Austen Kroll. Soon after, Cutler and Cavallari teamed up for an Instagram post to show that, even if estranged, they had each other's backs. And, in a supremely shady caption, Cavallari wrote, "The world is full of users. 10 years. Can't break that." Cutler isn't the only athlete LeCroy has been associated with, though. The very same month of that drama, she was also accused of hooking up with Alex Rodriguez — while he was with Jennifer Lopez. Granted, LeCroy has maintained that their relationship was restricted to DMs rather than meet ups, and a rep for Rodriguez denied that they'd ever even met to People.
Looks like third time's a (Southern) charm, though, because soon after the rumors surrounding Cutler and Rodriguez became news, murmurings of a yet another athlete began doing the rounds. Enter Decker. Our question remains, though — did anything ever actually happen between them?
An anonymous tip-off suggested they had an affair
If the January 2021 news cycle wasn't enough of a rollercoaster for Madison LeCroy, February proved to be much the same.
The month kicked off with an anonymous tip-off to Instagram gossip account DeuxMoi, alleging that LeCroy had been having an affair with Eric Decker — though the sender declined to name him. Instead, they made allusions to the ex-footballer through the pseudonym, "Triple Decker." That probably would have been enough of a hint to make the connection to Eric. However, the sender made sure there could be no second guessing by adding a comment on his wife, Jessie James Decker. Again, no names were named. But, it was mentioned that the wife in question "claims to be fond of South Beach." For reference, Jessie became a brand ambassador for the South Beach Diet in 2017. Other than the suggestion that they were having an affair, though, no further details were offered.
It's worth noting that Eric is no stranger to allegations of infidelity in his marriage to Jessie. Far from it, in 2018, he found himself at the center of controversy when a Twitter user accused him of hooking up with other women. Eric categorically denied the claims then. However, when it came to the LeCroy situation, he kept mum. That's not to say LeCroy didn't clap back, though.
... but she was quick to deny it
Eric Decker might not have felt a need to respond to the Madison LeCroy affair rumors, but when the "Southern Charm" star learned of them, she was quick to set the record straight.
In a DM to @BravoandCocktails on Instagram (since taken down and replaced with a backup), LeCroy pointed out that she was a big fan of the Deckers and their relationship. "It's not true ... I love them. I would never," she wrote. She also rubbished any claims she'd been with married men in general. "No married men EVER," she said. Given that LeCroy had previously acknowledged that she had been pursued by Jay Cutler, and at least spoken with Alex Rodriguez, her total denial of the Decker situation is certainly noteworthy.
It also bears mentioning that the origins of the affair rumor are more than a little murky. DeuxMoi is notorious for sharing wild celebrity tidbits that may be true, or entirely false. Case in point: their bio comes with the disclaimer, "This account does not claim information published is based in fact." So, did anything ever happen between Decker and LeCroy? If the Bravolebrity's denials are anything to go by, probably not. Let's chalk this one up to a bizarre rumor.
