Who Is Country Star, Josh Turner's Wife, Jennifer Ford?
Country star Josh Turner has created some romantic songs, including "Your Man" and "Hometown Girl," and he didn't have to look too far for inspiration. Turner's wife, Jennifer Ford, has been the country singer's muse for quite some time, as they have continuously collaborated.
Like Turner, Ford is an incredible musician, per Country Fan Cast. For years, she has been the keyboardist and background vocalist for Turner's band. And because the couple is attached at the hip, they are constantly making music with one another. In honor of Easter weekend, Turner posted a video of the couple singing a song together for all their fans to enjoy. But, besides just music, Ford is also heavily involved in Turner's career in other ways.
While Ford is sure to be the muse for Turner's songs, the keyboardist is also the inspiration for a couple of his music videos. In 2005, Ford starred alongside Turner in a sensual and sweet music video for the track, "Your Man." The couple looked head over heels for one another as they held onto each other close and shared kisses. This wasn't the end of Ford's appearances in Turner's videos, as she also starred in the music video for "I Wouldn't Be A Man." The more somber tone track had the two longing for one another before they were eventually reunited. The two were nothing but smiles throughout the video as their love was evident and still continues to be.
Jennifer Ford and Josh Turner go way back
Throughout Josh Turner's rise to fame, he has had his number one supporter and wife, Jennifer Ford, at his side. According to Country Now, Ford and Turner have been together since the 90's, as they first crossed paths while attending Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Turner detailed the initial meeting in his book, "Man Stuff: Thoughts on Faith, Family and Fatherhood," he said, "Meeting her wasn't planned or expected, but our friendship felt completely different. For the first time, I was truly on cloud nine. I can't really explain that time other than to say it was unbelievable."
In 2002, Turner decided to get down on one knee and propose to Ford and a year later they tied the knot, per Country Now. Even as Turner gained more fame, the couple's relationship never changed. Turner detailed the secret to their successful marriage to The Republic, he said, "I didn't marry her just because I love her. I married her also because I like her. And we've always been better together."
The couple's love has only grown as they expanded their family. In 2020, they worked together to help homeschool their kids amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Turner shared with iHeart, "My wife is the teacher. I am the principal. They come to me when they get in trouble with the teacher." Their playful attitude has made their love for one another stronger every year.
Jennifer Ford is a mother to four boys
Jennifer Ford has her hands full. Three years after saying "I do" in 2003, Ford and Josh Turner welcomed their first child, Hampton, per Country Thang Daily. In less than ten years, the couple added three more children into the mix, Colby, Marion, and Samuel.
Because of Turner's career, Ford took on the duty of taking care of the boys. The "Your Man" singer told People (via The Boot), "Jennifer isn't the type to hand a child off to me the minute I get back, but I am very hands-on when I get home. I realize she does need a break, and I pitch in and help as much as I can." To ensure the couple has balanced parenting, they took all their boys on the road, despite pushback. Turner told People, "Jennifer raised our three oldest boys on the road...They did not want my wife on the road and I'm like, 'Screw you. I'm doing it anyway.'" The couple has created some spectacular memories with the boys on the road, and it has truly become a family affair.
In December 2022, all four boys joined Turner and Ford on stage, per Instagram. Turner wrote, "One day, I'll look back at these Christmas tour photos and wonder how the years slipped by so fast. This will be a time our family will treasure for a lifetime. It makes my heart happy to look on stage each night and see Jennifer and the boys."
