American Idol's Scotty McCreery Marries Gabi Duga

Scotty McCreery is a married man!

On Saturday, June 16, 2018, the American Idol alum tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Gabi Duga in their native North Carolina, People reports.

"We've been dating six years and have known each other our whole lives. That kind of story doesn't happen too often nowadays," the "This Is It" singer told the magazine ahead of their big day. "I support her dreams and she supports mine."

McCreery's childhood pastor officiated the gorgeous ceremony, as the couple exchanged vows in front of 200 friends and family. At their reception, the newlyweds enjoyed their first dance, which was set to Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love," before digging into a Cajun dinner and pies with their guests. 

"I kept it very classic," the bride, who is a pediatric nurse, said of planning their nuptials. "I went with greenery and white flowers, some lanterns and candle votives [for a] rustic feel. We fell in love with the mountains during the summertime [when Scotty proposed], and our [venue] is like a little castle in the woods."

According to her new husband, the decor was "very Beauty and the Beast!"

Early next week, the married pair will honeymoon in Tahiti, before they begin to build their new life together back home.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, McCreery and Duga, both 24, announced their engagement in September 2017. "I've been planning this moment for so long that it feels surreal for it to have finally happened," McCreery wrote on his website, revealing that the proposal took place at "one of their favorite places on the planet: the mountains of North Carolina."

The country music star, who'd helped design his fianceé's engagement ring "specifically for her," added, "Gabi is the perfect girl and my true love, and I cannot wait to begin building our life together as husband and wife." At the time, he also shared a series of Instagram photos of the two together, writing, "SHE SAID YES!!!"

The high school sweethearts, who first met in kindergarten, began dating during their senior year in 2011.
