Amy Schumer Is 'Happier' Now That She's 'Stopped Focusing' On Her Looks
Amy Schumer is so over the body shaming.
On Monday, June 11, 2018, the I Feel Pretty star opened up to Catt Sadler of The Cattwalk about overcoming her body image issues.
"I stopped focusing on it," she told the website. "I rarely think about how I look anymore. Honestly, it's so freeing and you get a lot more done and are a lot happier."
The comedian continued, "You need to do the work to actually love the person you are. Also, we are all gonna die, don't sweat the little dumb stuff. None of it matters."
The Inside Amy Schumer star went on to gush over her marriage with chef Chris Fischer. Calling him "a great partner," she added, "We don't complete each other, we compliment and support each other. He makes me laugh and feel supported and has his own life going on. I love that weirdo."
As for whether the couple, who made their red carpet debut at the 2018 Tony Awards this past weekend, plan to expand their family, Schumer simply said they "may want babies" one day.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Schumer, 37, and Fischer, 38, tied the knot in a secret ceremony in February of this year, just two days after the Trainwreck star confirmed their relationship on Instagram.
The surprise wedding took place outside of a rented house in Malibu, Calif., where a number of A-listers, including Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, David Spade, Larry David, Judd Apatow, and Jake Gyllenhaal, were in attendance.
The happy news of their whirlwind romance came just six months after it was announced that Schumer and ex-boyfriend Ben Hanisch had called it quits.
In April 2018, the stand-up comedian opened up about married life during an interview with E! News. "He's really proud of me," the newlywed began, adding, "The best part [of being married] is just having a partner and being like 'I got a team.' It was just me and [my dog] Tatiana and now it's cool, you got someone to go through life with together that you love and you want to be partnered up with."
