The Goldbergs Actor Jackson Odell Dead At 20
Jackson Odell has passed away.
The actor, who was best known for playing Ari Caldwell on The Goldbergs, was found dead in his home in San Fernando Valley, Calif. on Friday, June 8, 2018, TMZ reports. He was 20 years old.
After speaking with law enforcement sources, the gossip rag noted, "We're told he was found unresponsive in a sober living home, and there were no signs of foul play." At the time of this writing, a cause of death has yet to be determined.
Before landing his recurring role on the ABC sitcom between 2013 and 2015, Odell began acting at the age of 12. In addition to appearing in episodes of iCarly, Modern Family, and Arrested Development, he made his big screen debut in the 2011 comedy Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer.
Odell also found success as a singer-songwriter. Earlier this year, he penned a number of tracks for the Forever My Girl movie soundtrack, which included Lauren Alaina's "Wings of an Angel."
"Writing from a place of truth is a really big deal for me — whether it's about relationships, or whether it's about redemption or catharsis or whatever it is," the multi-talent told reporters at the film's red carpet premiere in January (via Page Six). He called working on the project an "amazing experience," adding that when it comes to songwriting, "It's not really about the subject, as it is about the progress and the experience, and the process that someone goes through without love. I draw inspiration from truth wherever that may lie."
Our thoughts are with Odell's loved ones during this difficult time.
