Pippa Middleton Confirms She's Pregnant With First Child
Pippa Middleton is expecting her first child with husband James Matthews.
In a column for Waitrose (via Hello! magazine), Pippa revealed that she is pregnant. And apparently, her pregnancy's been going a lot smoother than sister Kate Middleton's past ones. "I was lucky to pass the 12 week scan without suffering from morning sickness. That meant I was able to carry on as normal," she wrote. Kate, on the other hand, suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, which is characterized by extreme morning sickness, during all three of her pregnancies.
Of course, Pippa has had to make changes to her regular routines due to her pregnancy. "When I learned the happy news that I was pregnant I realised I needed to adjust my 4 to 5-day-a-week routine," she shared, remarking on her fitness habits.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, news of Pippa's pregnancy first broke in late April. However, Pippa had not confirmed the news herself until her Waitrose column was published in June. "When Pippa found out she was pregnant, she was obviously thrilled and utterly overjoyed," a source told The Sun at the time. "Naturally, big sister Kate and parents, Carole and Michael, were the first people she told — James aside — and they could not have been more delighted."
The insider went on, "Pippa and James have always known they wanted children," adding, "They have made the most of their first few months of marriage and felt the time was right to expand their family."
Pippa and her husband married in May 2017. They're reportedly expecting to welcome their first child together in October.
