Meghan Markle Reportedly Snubs Her Own Mother
Is Meghan Markle ignoring her mom?
According to a Radar Online exclusive, published on Thursday, May 31, 2018, Doria Ragland reportedly hasn't spoken to her daughter since two days after Markle's nuptials to Prince Harry.
"Doria's heartbroken and nervous and feels Meghan's shutting her out," a source told the gossip rag. "She's called, texted and emailed, but nada. Doria's biggest fear, one that she's felt ever since Meghan told her she was engaged to the Prince, is that she'd never hear from or see Meghan again."
The insider went on to allege, "This is classic Meghan. She's Royalty now. She's part of that family and now she's ice cold to everyone, including her own mother."
The newly titled Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal wedding has reportedly impacted Ragland's life in more ways than one. As another insider told Radar Online earlier this week, the royal family has allegedly silenced the former Suits actress' mother with a non-disclosure agreement.
"Doria can't eat, speak or otherwise open her mouth about Meghan unless she clears it with the Royal family," the source, who is supposedly close to Markle, told the website. "Her friends are asking how the wedding was, how the food was, asking how happy Meghan is and all Doria did was shrug her shoulders. She didn't say a word. It's so sad. The poor lady looks and feels miserable."
The media attention surrounding the high-profile royal relationship also reportedly led to Ragland's decision to quit her job as a social worker at a Los Angeles mental health clinic. "There had been a lot of calls from the media asking to speak with her because her daughter was marrying Prince Harry," an Us Weekly source claimed, adding that Ragland has continued to work as a yoga instructor and might even start her own private practice. "It just became overwhelming for Doria and she considered taking a leave of absence, but recognized that the interest was only going to continue after the wedding."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, tied the knot at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Ragland, 61, was famously the only member of her daughter's family to attend the royal couple's marriage ceremony. Her father, Thomas Markle, had been unable to travel to the U.K. after undergoing heart surgery just ahead of his daughter's big day.
