RHOM: A Look At Joanna Krupa's Failed Second Marriage To Douglas Nunes

Model-turned-reality television star Joanna Krupa first burst onto the reality television scene way back in 2012 during Season 2 of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Miami." At that time, viewers got to know the Poland native as the fiancée of nightclub owner Romain Zago. While the couple did eventually wed in 2013 — all while the Bravo cameras were rolling — the union proved to be short-lived. In 2017 Krupa and Zago finalized their divorce. "The bi-coastal relationship was really tough and I think that really had a lot to do with why we're not together right now," she later confessed to Us Weekly about the high-profile split.

Alas, it appears Krupa fans are experiencing a bit of déjà vu as Krupa has announced she is divorcing yet again — this time from her second husband and father of her only child, Douglas Nunes. "My husband and I have made a joint decision to get separated," she revealed in a bombshell Instagram post on March 27. "We have a private agreement between us that is our business and we are moving forward as friends and still live daily as a family for our daughter whom we both place before ourselves," she added. She also vowed that the co-parents were committed to "assuring the other's happiness so we can be the best parents possible."

All niceties aside, however, many are still shocked at the couple's seemingly abrupt split. Here's a look back at Krupa's second failed marriage.

Joanna Krupa and Douglas Nunes met at a dog park

First comes love, then comes marriage, then ... well you know the rest.

The story goes that Joanna Krupa met her second husband, investor and entrepreneur Douglas Nunes, in a rather unconventional setting. "One year ago today I met you @nunes451 at the dog park and my life has changed forever," she gushed in a sentimental Instagram post on October 18, 2018, along with a photo of the couple grinning from ear to ear on their wedding day. Fast forward to March 25 of the same year, and Nunes put a ring on it! "Just another weekend in the Krupa-Nunes household," she penned along with a photo of her hand modeling the larger-than-life sparkler. On August 4, the couple made it officially official during a small ceremony in Poland.

As fate would have it, however, it wouldn't be the two of them for long. On November 2, 2019, the couple welcomed a baby girl into their family: Asha-Leigh Presley Nunes. "All I can say is women are true warriors," Krupa declared in an emotional Instagram post about the birthing experience. But speaking of warriors ... has Nunes always been attracted to the feisty side of Krupa that true "The Real Housewives of Miami" fans and stans came to know? Funny, you should ask.

Joanna Krupa said that her husband probably wouldn't have married the old Joanna

Back in 2020, Joanna Krupa opened up to Bravo's The Daily Dish about her new hubby. "Douglas is a manly man. He is an amazing father. He is a great husband," she gushed. In fact, her one and only complaint was that he liked to cook a little too much for her liking. "I have like 10 pounds to lose after the baby, but because my husband likes to cook that's not happening anytime soon," she joked.

Still, she made it very clear that Nunes wasn't entirely aware of her former Housewives persona. While Krupa confessed that she didn't know whether Nunes had watched old clips of her "The Real Housewives of Miami" days, she admitted that she certainly hoped he hadn't. "I feel like if he watched it, he would be like, 'Who is this person? I don't recognize this person," she revealed. "I feel he probably would not have married that Joanna," she declared. It should be noted, however, that Krupa was adamant that she had changed since her Housewives days. "I'm sure I have that little fiery temper somewhere in me, but Douglas' friends and family are good, humble people, and they're not sitting at the dining room table having dinner and causing big arguments." Here's to hoping these two co-parents can continue to refrain from displaying any "fiery tempers" or engaging in any dining table squabbles "Real Housewives of Miami" style.
