Michael Lockwood Married Wife Stephanie Hobgood After Lisa Marie Presley Split
Lisa Marie Presley had quite an interesting love life that included four marriages. One of those marriages was to music producer Michael Lockwood. Presley and Lockwood first met in 2003, and after three marriages the songwriter truly thought that she found the one. She told Larry King on "Larry King Live" in 2005, "I just had this idea we would be perfect together. And I don't think I realized how right I was when I thought that. You know, just everything. We're together 24-7. We do everything together. And just — I've never had a relationship like this before." Fast-forward to 2006, and the couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Japan, per People. Not long after, the couple welcomed two twin daughters into their life in 2008.
Presley and Lockwood's marriage seemed different than anything she had before, as they were married for ten years. But, things changed as Lisa Marie Presley ended up filing for divorce in 2016 citing irreconcilable differences, as reported by US Weekly. The love that they once had for one another turned into a nasty custody battle over their two daughters that lasted for years. However, even before Presley's passing, Lockwood had already moved on from his marriage with the songwriter. Just a year after their divorce was finalized, in 2021, he ended up tying the knot with Stephanie Hobgood.
Michael Lockwood was waiting a long time to marry Stephanie Hobgood
Michael Lockwood was more than ready to marry Stephanie Hobgood. Amidst his divorce from Lisa Marie Presley, the music producer proposed to Hobgood over an intimate dinner, per The Sun. However, the couple waited until his divorce from Presley was finalized to officially walk down the aisle. A source told the outlet, "Lisa and Michael's divorce is finally over and him and Steph have been waiting a long time throughout the custody and child support battles before marrying."
In 2022, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara, CA, with his twin daughters by his side, per The Sun. After a grueling custody battle with ex-wife Presley, Lockwood was overjoyed his daughters were there to share the special moment. A source shared, "They were beyond excited the girls got to be in the wedding and had the best day of their lives, they really feel like love wins and they've finally found happiness."
The couple's happiness is evident, and being the musician he is, Lockwood ended up writing a song about the couple's love story, as seen on The Knot. The song was written by Lockwood but sung by Falon Young. Still, it was evident that the music producer poured his soul into the song. He wrote, "Two stars align and become a new one plus one equals two / You've gone the distance lead me to water And in the distance I'll shelter your pain."
Michael Lockwood was shocked by Lisa Marie Presley's death
It's safe to say that Michael Lockwood and Lisa Marie Presley didn't see eye to eye during their divorce. According to The Sun, the music producer was even hoping that Presley would find another relationship so she can move on. Although they had a tumultuous relationship, they did love one another at one point. So, when Presley passed away, Lockwood was shocked.
The music producer didn't have much time to sulk in newlywed bliss with Stephanie Hobgood, because months after they married, Presley tragically died. Following her death, those closest to her shared tributes and statements honoring Presley, including Lockwood, reports ET. The music producer wrote, "We are all reeling from the sudden passing of Lisa Marie Presley, the mother of my two beautiful twin daughters Harper and Finley. Nothing prepares us for such an unexpected tragedy. It is incomprehensible." From the moment Presley died, Lockwood's focus was solely on the children.
In his statement, the music producer shared that Harper and Finley would continue to carry on both his and Presley's "family's legacy," per ET. He said, "Since they were born, Harper and Finley have brought me profound joy and I remain devoted to them." Lockwood went into dad mode amidst the death of Presley as he was trying to protect their two children. However, just like the twins, the music producer was sure to be grieving the loss of a woman he shared more than ten years with.
