Then, the three-part docu-series, "House of Hammer" was released, claiming it wasn't just Armie as chilling details about his family's history revealed a pattern of predatory and problematic behavior spanning generations. The reputations of the Hammer males didn't fare well, with sordid allegations of cruelty and abuse implicating them all.
How Armie felt about the documentary leading up to its release was no surprise. "Armie is trying to prepare himself as much as he can," a source told Entertainment Tonight. "He has an idea about what's coming." The actor's ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, shared her reaction. "It was obviously heartbreaking on so many levels and very painful. But at the same time, it exists," she told E! News.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, aside from disturbing details about Armie's alleged actions, the bulk of the docu-series was based on Casey Hammer's autobiography, "Surviving My Birthright." Her brother, Michael Hammer, who's Armie's father, made his feelings clear in a letter Casey read near the end of the series. He accused her of "pretending that the stories you have invented are the truth" and threatened to sue if she proceeded. However, he ended, "You are still my family, and I wish you nothing but the best." Blood obviously runs thick within the Hammer clan — but Armie's little brother seemingly escaped the heat. He didn't appear once. So what do we know about Viktor Hammer, Armie's lesser-known younger brother?
Viktor Hammer is a low-profile finance bro
It feels like there's not much more to discover about Armie Hammer. His sexual preferences, kinks, desires, and deep, dark fantasies have all been unveiled to the world — along with many personal details about his predecessors. But what about the rest of the Hammer men, specifically Armie's younger brother Viktor Hammer? His name didn't even surface during the recent family scandal.
According to Vanity Fair, Armie and Viktor were born to Michael and Dru Ann Mobley Hammer. Viktor is two years younger than his brother and was named after their great-grandfather Armand Hammer's younger brother, Victor Hammer. When Armie and Viktor were children, they moved to the Cayman Islands, where they lived for 10 years before relocating to Los Angeles, California.
Per the Daily Mail, Viktor followed in his father's footsteps and entered the finance industry, though he became a securities broker at Morgan Stanley instead of an investment banker like his father. He's married to his former Pepperdine classmate, Angelia de Meistre. The two wed in "Fitzgerald style, in an elegant summer soiree at a Montecito estate," according to Pure Joy Catering, which provided the food. There was "High Tea with all the trimmings," "lashings of Pimms," "adorable tea sandwiches," and "a multitude of creative stations with a delicious feast." Very classy, indeed. Unlike his big brother, Viktor shunned the spotlight. Still, it appears it's his time to hit the headlines now.
Viktor Hammer is duking it out with his former stepmom
Viktor and Armie Hammer's parents divorced in 2012. In 2017, Michael Hammer married Misty Millward Hammer. They were married until Michael Hammer died of cancer at age 67 in November 2022.
Following Michael's death, Viktor was introduced to his first taste of life in the spotlight. The U.S. Sun obtained a copy of a lawsuit for "breach of contract" and "tortious interference with contract" that Misty filed against her former stepson and his employer Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC. Her attorneys allege that before Michael's body was cold, Viktor "began trying to seize control of all of the Accounts and assets" relating to his dad's foundations. In addition, the lawsuit claims Viktor ordered Morgan Stanley not to transfer the $2 million plus bequeathed to Misty in her late husband's will. "Viktor Hammer has no legal authority to put himself in charge of the Accounts or to give himself control or exert directives over the Accounts," the court documents read.
Meanwhile, even though there's clearly some serious beef between Viktor and Misty, Armie remains tight with his former stepmom. The Daily Mail has photos of the two out and about on a shopping trip in Los Angeles and notes that he's not been named as a defendant in her lawsuit. Given that Michael inherited around $40 million when he took over the family's oil business, it's unlikely Armie's hurting for cash right now, despite his career hitting the skids.
