Have Jamie Lee Curtis And Lindsay Lohan Stayed In Touch Since Freaky Friday?
It's been two decades since Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan collaborated. Back in 2003, the actors played a mother-daughter duo, Tess and Anna Coleman, who switch bodies in an updated "Freaky Friday" flick. Leading up to the film's release, Lohan chatted with MovieWeb and revealed that one reason she said yes to the project was that she and Curtis quickly felt at ease with one another. "Me and Jamie got along right from the start. We had this great chemistry," Lohan said. She added, "I think that Jamie and I have so much in common; it was easier for me to pick up little things that she does and use that in the role."
Years after the film debuted, Curtis was asked about her days shooting "Freaky Friday" with Lohan in a 2010 Access Hollywood interview. Curtis said she "only [has] compassion" for her former co-star and additionally praised Lohan's acting chops. "She was just terrific. She was a terrific young talent," Curtis said of Lohan. Following their days on the set of the family comedy film, Curtis and Lohan have kept in touch.
Lindsay Lohan has 'gone at great lengths' to keep in touch
Lindsay Lohan revealed in recent years that she's made efforts to stay in communication with Jamie Lee Curtis. In December 2022, Lohan stated that when she emails Curtis, her "Freaky Friday" cast mate will respond with questions to see if Lohan recalls on-set memories, which Lohan thinks is "so much fun." "Every time — I don't know why it is — but every time I email [Curtis] ... she does like, this row of test questions I have to answer from something that had happened in the past from a movie set, from 'Freaky Friday,'" Lohan said, according to OK! Furthermore, Lohan said she's "gone to great lengths to get [Curtis] on the phone," such as "[sending Curtis] videos ... to her Instagram account" for confirmation that it's really Lohan. Going through these steps has resulted in Curtis and Lohan remaining friendly.
Back in March 2022, Curtis told People that she and Lohan, who had just been in a Planet Fitness Super Bowl commercial and was engaged at the time, had been in touch. "We're in contact, and the fact that [Lohan] can poke fun at herself a little [means] we can all poke fun at ourselves, believe me," Curtis said. Curtis added of her former co-star, "I'm just happy that she's happy."
Recently, they've both been thriving — Lohan is married and expecting her first child, while Curtis is a first-time Oscar winner. Could the time be right for a "Freaky Friday" sequel?
They 'would both be into' a Freaky Friday sequel

It's all good. Bring it!"
Lohan spoke to Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" the following month about being on-set when Curtis reached out to her regarding the idea for another "Freaky Friday" movie. "Jamie Lee Curtis writes you, and you just get excited and distracted immediately," Lohan said. She added, "And then she said 'Freaky Friday 2,' and I got more excited." Lohan next confirmed that she would love to star alongside Curtis in this proposed sequel. "We would both be into it," Lohan said. This talented duo is also here to celebrate each other's victories.
