Kate Bosworth Was A Doting Stepmother Before Her Split From Michael Polish

Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish met in the classic Hollywood way — she starred in the film "Big Sur," which he wrote and directed. The 2011 adventure drama was the start of their years-long romance. After Bosworth tackled a particularly daunting scene, she recalled to Flaunt, "I finished the scene in a way that surprised him but was also just how he wanted it. He called 'Cut!' and looked at his first AD and said, 'I'm going to marry her.'"

Bosworth and Polish got married in 2013 and she inherited her stepdaughter, Jasper Polish. The Hollywood pair were married for eight years before announcing their separation in 2021. Bosworth shared in a lengthy, poetic Instagram post, "The beginning is often the best part of love. Fireworks, magnets, rebellion — the attraction. The onset signals a wide open expanse of possibility ... Our hearts are full, as we have never been so enamored and deeply grateful for one another as we do in this decision to separate."

During her marriage to Michael, Bosworth developed a strong bond with Jasper, who affectionately refers to her as "madre," and the two still remain close to this day.

But when I met Jasper, I knew I had to step up for her," she wrote. Bosworth went on to say that the first dish she made for Jasper was Lemon Chicken Piccata, which is still her stepdaughter's favorite. "Of the things I've done in life, the best by far is becoming a stepmom to my favorite person on earth," the actor gushed. Bosworth officially filed for divorce from Michael in 2022, but she still lovingly considers Jasper her "kid forever."

Kate Bosworth is determined not to let her separation from Michael Polish affect her relationship with her stepdaughter, Jasper Polish. Months after their split, Bosworth showed her love for Jasper on December 14, 2021, in an Instagram post. "Happy Birthday @jasperpolish ... my kid forever. As I was looking through our photos, I chose these because they most accurately convey how very warm-hearted you are. Generous of spirit. FUN. Funny! Kind, beautiful (inside & out)," she wrote, concluding the message with "Madre."

Bosworth continues to be a positive influence on Jasper, and she starred alongside her stepdaughter in the 2022 western series "Bring on the Dancing Horses," directed by none other than Michael. Jasper's first role was in the 2006 film "The Astronaut Farmer." She has since gone on to star in "Devil's Whisper" and "Force of Nature," among many other films.

In May 2022, Jasper accompanied Bosworth to the screening of "Along for the Ride." Sharing pics of the two glammed up for the event, Jasper wrote, "Watching this movie with you was so surreal and touching. You are a bright light in my life and my best friend. Can't wait for everyone to fall in love with this story like I did!" Although Bosworth's relationship with Michael didn't make the long run, it looks like her bond with Jasper is forever.
