Angelina Jolie And Amal Clooney: Are The Feud Rumors Real?
Angelina Jolie and Amal Clooney have a lot more in common than you first might expect. Not only do Jolie and Amal kill it in their respective fields (as an actor and human rights attorney, respectively); they're also both known for their dedication to their various humanitarian efforts. In addition to heading up the Jolie-Pitt foundation since 2003, Jolie also volunteered for the UNHCR for two decades. When receiving the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, in 2013, Jolie credited her late mother as her inspiration for living a life of service.Meanwhile, Amal has often represented "victims of mass atrocities, including genocide and sexual violence," throughout her career, according to Columbia Law.
Boss moves aside, Jolie and Amal have been lauded for their classy, sophisticated style, and love for long, layered hair, even sporting similar looks on occasion.Lastly, they also both have close ties to George Clooney. Jolie's ex-husband, Brad Pitt, has been George's longtime friend and collaborator for years.Meanwhile, Amal has, of course, been married to the two-time Oscar winning actor since 2014. In real life, these threads would be the perfect foundation for a great friendship. In Hollywood, however, it's the perfect recipe for whisperings of a possible celebrity feud — which is exactly what happened in their case. Over the years, there have been various rumors claiming that Jolie and Clooney weren't too fond of one another, for one reason or another. Here's what we know.

Angelina Jolie reportedly was 'jealous' of Amal Clooney
It's hard to imagine that Angelina Jolie would be jealous of anyone. However, Page Six reported in 2018 that Jolie was extremely envious over Amal's rising star within the humanitarian landscape. "Angelina hates all the attention that Amal is getting — she's beautiful, she's smart, she's stylish, she has a beautiful family and she's doing important human rights work." Continuing, the source seemed to go to bat for Clooney. "Angelina lives in such a bubble, she believes that Amal is doing a 'single white female' on her, and Angie can't understand why she herself has become so unpopular in Hollywood. But the truth is, Amal isn't concerned at all about Angelina — she is fully focused on her family and her work."
Of course, claims made by anonymous sources should always be taken with a grain of salt. And since neither woman has ever publicly addressed this rumor, it's impossible to know if it holds any weight. With that said, there are a few other possible sources of contention between Jolie and Clooney, which could suggest that they may not exactly be on friendly terms.
Could political differences be keeping Angelina Jolie and Amal Clooney apart?
It's been suggested that Amal Clooney can't stand Angelina Jolie, either. However, Amal's alleged reasoning appears to stem more from personal feelings than professional envy. According to The Sun, Amal's husband George took Brad Pitt's side during his divorce from Jolie in 2016. According to the report, Amal allegedly called Jolie "crazy" during the contentious proceedings, a remark that likely wouldn't sit well with the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" star. If true, then it appears that Amal may have taken a less neutral approach than her husband, George Clooney. After learning of Pitt and Jolie's impending divorce while on air at the UN, George sent his condolences to the couple. "I didn't know that. Wow," said George (via CNN). "I feel very sorry then. That's a sad story and unfortunate for a family. It's an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that."
With that said, an unverified report by Life & Style hinted that Jolie and Amal's supposed issues started sooner than that. Per the outlet, George was upset after Jolie and Pitt didn't attend his and Amal's wedding in 2014 (allegedly Jolie's decision). Around this time, Celeb Dirty Laundry published speculation that Jolie had an aversion to some of Amal's clients or her political affiliations. Because Jolie and Amal haven't ever commented publicly on their relationship, there's still no hard evidence for the feud. According to the Daily Mail, Amal has something in common with Brad Pitt's current girlfriend, Ines de Ramon — both women get to cheer on their guys in the "Wolves" thriller for Apple TV+.
