Vanderpump Rules: Did Jax Taylor Predict Ariana Madix And Tom Sandoval's Split?
Cheating is nothing new for the cast of "Vanderpump Rules" – after all, the show is built on the backs of broken affairs — but the situation between Tom Sandoval, Raquel Leviss, and Ariana Madix is something different. Outlets as far-reaching as The New York Times have picked up the story thanks to the massive backlash the affair caused.
Madix and Sandoval dated for nearly a decade. They got together amid scandal, as Sandoval had just broken up with Kristen Doute, who cheated on him and accused him of having an affair with Madix. Things get complicated quickly in this group, but Madix and Sandoval became the most stable and beloved couple on the show after the initial bumpiness. So it came as a huge shock to learn that Sandoval had a seven-month affair with 28-year-old Leviss, all while living with Madix. The relationship between Leviss and Sandoval was much more than your average VPR hookup. Sources have claimed they tell each other they love each other and plan to be together now that his relationship with Madix has gone up in flames (per Us Weekly).
It would have surprised viewers enough if he and Madix had broken up, let alone cheated. But, as longtime fans continue to reel from the news even a week later, one man couldn't be less flustered: Sandoval's best frenemy, Jax Taylor.
Jax has entered the chat
Most fans and close friends seemed to think Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval were in it for the haul, but former "Vanderpump Rules" star Jax Taylor saw the writing on the wall a long time ago. In a 2020 interview, Taylor referred to Madix and Sandoval, who had just bought a house together, as "glorified roommates." "They're never going to get married. They're never going to have children," he continued. "I think Tom wants to have kids. I think Tom wants to get married. I think in the next couple of years, something's going to happen."
Well, when he's right, he's right. Madix and Sandoval are most certainly no longer together. Although it seems unlikely that even Taylor could have predicted it would have been Raquel Leviss, a woman whose broken engagement Sandoval once financed (per Bravo), and Madix's best friend, would be the reason. Still, Taylor knew he'd be right one way or the other. "I've rarely, rarely, rarely ever been wrong on this show," he said. "I can't even think of a time I've ever been wrong. I don't think it's going to last that much longer. Sorry. I don't."
Taylor didn't necessarily predict the end of their relationship, but those who knew them could tell you things weren't going well. "They were having problems for a while," an insider assured Us Weekly. When a fan asked Taylor if he was surprised, he responded with a simple: "No."
What about the rest of the cast?
Jax Taylor wasn't the only cast member (current or past) who was left with a bad taste in their mouth after spending time around Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval. Since the news broke, Lala Kent has been particularly outspoken about her long-standing disgust for Sandoval. "I've seen you for who you [are] for a long time, and you don't like that," Kent wrote in a since-deleted Instagram story.
The rest of the cast has also been rallying around Madix as Sandoval and Raquel Leviss lay low. Kate Maloney openly criticized Sandoval's first public apology as it did not mention Madix and instead implored fans to leave his businesses and employees alone. Scheana Shay, who was with Leviss at the time the news broke, reportedly attacked her, and Leviss has now filed an order of protection. In the following days, the women of "VPR" descended upon Madix's home to support her during this difficult time, per Us Weekly. Kristen Doute, Sandoval's ex, posted an emotional Instagram story kissing Madix on the lips and claiming she would kill for her, per Daily Beast.
It's easy to take Madix's side, as the circulated narrative has insisted that she was caught unaware when she discovered illicit videos from Leviss on her partner's phone. "Ariana was blindsided by the cheating," a source told Page Six adding that Madix had "no idea there were any issues" in her relationship until that moment.
