Here's How Far Kylie Jenner Really Got In School

Say what you want about the Kardashians, but there's no denying that they're one of the most business-savvy families in show business. They managed to take their small clothing business (DASH, anyone?) into a full-blown empire, with each family member having their own ventures. Kim Kardashian has Skims, KKW Beauty, KKW Fragrance, and Skkn. Khloe Kardashian has Good American. Kourtney Kardashian has Poosh and Lemme. Kylie Jenner has Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Skin, Kylie Swim, and Kylie Baby, and Kendall Jenner balances her modeling career with 818 Tequila. Even Rob Kardashian has tried his hand at running a company with his sock line, Arthur George.

And helping manage all these? The Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, who also has her own brand, Safely, that sells cleaning products. It's worth noting that despite being one of the wealthiest families in Hollywood, none of the Kardashians hold business degrees. In fact, only two of them are actual degree holders. Kourtney has an acting degree from the University of Arizona, while Rob graduated from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. Meanwhile, Khloe once wrote in her now-defunct personal blog that "I knew college wasn't for me," and in a Vogue interview, Kendall shared: "You talk to people and they say the reason they went to college was to get a job, but I already have a job, so..."

As for Kylie? Well, she's not closing the doors on further education completely.

Kylie Jenner was prepared to go to college

Kylie Jenner seems to be living a life most of us could only dream of, but despite her riches and fame, she said she regrets not going through the "normal" high school experience. In her reality show "Life of Kylie," the reality star shared that homeschooling was "sad" on her part. Kylie and her sister, Kendall Jenner, were initially enrolled at Sierra Canyon School but later switched to homeschooling to fulfill work commitments. "They were performing poorly in school due to constantly missing classes as the regular 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. school day clashed with their budding careers," Kris Jenner once said.

And while that helped Kylie become more flexible regarding her school and work balance, she had to cut ties with her high school friends to limit her FOMO. "I had to unfollow all my friends that I went to school with," she confessed on the show. "They probably all thought I hated them but I just couldn't see it, you know, because they would always post photos and they were all at the prom and I was like, 'Can't see it.' It really just made me sad."

Kylie graduated high school in 2015, and in an Interview feature, the makeup mogul remained firm regarding her decision not to go to college. Then again, you might find her roaming the halls of a university in the future. "I have done everything to prepare for college, so if I wanted to in the future, I could go at any time," she explained. "But I'm not planning on going anytime soon."

Does Kylie Jenner really need higher education?

Kylie Jenner was touted as the "world's youngest self-made billionaire" in 2019 by Forbes, and that's without a college degree in tow. It was the same year that Kylie Cosmetics really started booming, leading her company to generate impressive revenue. "I popped up at a few stores, I did my usual social media — I did what I usually do, and it just worked," she said of her initial business strategy. In short: She capitalized on her family's fame (and it worked wonders for her).

Kylie pretty much manifested her success when she graduated high school. In her Interview feature, she laid bare her plans, and they've all come to fruition thus far: "If I could do whatever I wanted, I would have a successful makeup line, and I would want to hopefully start more businesses, and just be, like, a businesswoman," she dished. True enough, she eventually branched out from makeup and launched a skincare line, a swimwear brand, and a baby care brand.

Her ultimate goal, though, is to retire early. "Hopefully, I'll go off the map. When I'm, like, 30, I want to go off the map, have a family, and live in Malibu with a farm, and just raise my own chickens." We'll see in a few years if she manages to make that happen.
