Dale Earnhardt Jr. Welcomes First Child With Wife Amy
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a new dad!
The NASCAR driver and his wife, Amy Earnhardt, welcomed their first child together on Monday, April 30, 2018. Amy took to Twitter the next day to announce the good news with her over 180,000 followers, revealing that they'd had a baby girl they named Isla Rose Earnhardt. "She's finally here!" Amy tweeted out. "@DaleJr and I are officially parents to a beautiful baby girl, Isla Rose Earnhardt."
She continued, "It feels like a dream. The best dream ever."
Dale then retweeted his wife's post, adding, "Everyone was right. It's a new beginning. Now everything I do will be for her and Amy. So blessed."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Dale and Amy, who started dating in 2009 before tying the knot in late 2016, shared that they were expecting their first kid together back in October. Posting a photo of a tiny pair of pink Converse sneakers on Instagram, "Excited to share the wonderful news that @mrsamyearnhardt and I are expecting our first child. A little girl!!!!" He went on, "We are both thrilled and can't wait to meet her."
Dale, who retired from racing in 2017, had previously opened up about the prospect of fatherhood, telling E! News, "I always thought the greatest accomplishment in life was to raise a child aside from getting married in the first place. Everybody tells me it's the greatest thing ever and I take their word for it."
