These Kids Of Celebrities Work Completely Normal Jobs
The phrase "nepotism baby" has been a hot topic in the entertainment industry. Certain stars get a leg-up or an unfair advantage in Hollywood just because they have a connection to the industry, which most likely are their parents. For example, there's director Judd Apatow and actor Leslie Mann's daughter Maude Apatow, who starred in several of her dad's films, including "Knocked Up" and "The King of Staten Island." Then, there's Gwyneth Paltrow, who made her Hollywood debut in "High," a television movie her dad, Bruce Paltrow, directed.
Call it inherently unfair, but these stars have claimed that they've had it harder because of their parents' last names. Defending herself, Gwyneth shared with Hailey Bieber that she's had to "work twice as hard and be twice as good" because of Hollywood's high expectations. As for Maude, though she acknowledged her privilege, she shared similar feelings as Gwyneth, telling Variety, "I definitely get why people would be mad at me, but I will literally spend the rest of my life trying to prove myself and work twice as hard."
However, there are some cases where the kids of celebrities have stayed far away from Hollywood. Instead of choosing the same career paths as their famous parents, the stars below work completely normal jobs. From jewelry makers to those working in government and college professors, these kids of celebrities are just like us.
Tom Selleck's daughter is an equestrian
While his charming good looks and bold mustache have made Tom Selleck one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, his daughter, Hannah Margaret Selleck, whom he shares with his wife Jillie Mack, decided to find passions outside of the spotlight. Selleck, known for his roles in "Magnum P.I.," "Three Men and a Baby," and "Blue Bloods," allowed his daughter to do what she loved, which was riding horses.
According to Equestrian Living, Hannah, born in 1988, learned to ride horses at a young age after her father and mother moved to a ranch in Ventura County, California. She began training at the elite Foxfield Riding School and started her professional career as an equestrian after graduating from Loyola Marymount in 2011. Hannah competes in Grand Prix level show jumping and operates a horse breeding and training business called Descanso Farm.
Hannah shared how her parents encouraged her to do what she loved, "Because [my parents] are both artists, they believe in the idea that you have to be very passionate about what you do to be successful. They encouraged me to be passionate about it and immersed in it, and from there, it was kind of on me how I wanted it."
Jessica Lange's daughter is a dance instructor
The acting bug didn't rub off on esteemed Hollywood icon Jessica Lange's children. Lange welcomed her first child, a daughter named Alexandra "Shura" Baryshnikov, with renowned dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov in 1981. The pair never married, with Lange later moving on with playwright and actor Sam Shepard in 1982. They welcomed a daughter named Hannah in 1986 and a son named Samuel in 1987, with the couple splitting in 2011, per the Los Angeles Times.
According to The Seattle Times, Lange's eldest daughter Shura followed in her father's footsteps. Though she began dancing ballet as a child, she started a dance career later in life. Speaking about upholding her father's name, Shura shared, "I just have to follow my interests and pursue the kind of dance, dancemaking and body movement that is compelling to me, and not do it for any kind of reasons of legacy, but simply because I can't imagine doing anything else."
WUN reported that Shura has a "background in physical theatre, contemporary dance, and range of improvisation practices." She has worked as a choreographer for several dance companies and theatres, mainly on the East Coast. Though she has worked as an actor in a few theatrical roles, dancing is her passion. In 2010, Shura began teaching dance to students at Brown University and has also taught choreography at MIT and Rhode Island College. Shura also owns a dance company called Doppelgänger Dance Collective.

One of Willem Dafoe's most recognized roles was portraying Norman Osborn, aka Green Goblin, in director Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy. Fans saw him reprise the villainous character in 2021's "Spider-Man: No Way Home." Dafoe's acting credits go back to the 1980s, and with such an impressive resume, you'd think his son Jack Dafoe would also love a career in the spotlight. However, Jack's career is far from Hollywood.
According to Jack's LinkedIn, he attended Yale University in 2000, where he obtained his Bachelor's in English Language and Literature. In 2009, he received his Jurs Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. Frances McDormand's son is a personal trainer
Frances McDormand's acting career has spanned nearly four decades. Luckily, she married a man in the entertainment industry that has been by her side throughout her career. In 1984, McDormand married director Joel Coen, and in 1995, the couple adopted a six-month-old boy from Paraguay named Pedro, per The Sun. Raising her son would eventually help her prepare for her role in "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri," for which she won an Oscar. She told Belfast Telegraph, "As a mother, you live on the edge of disaster. You just do. I didn't give birth to my son, I met him at six months old, but from the minute I held him and smelled him, I knew it was my job to keep him alive."
However, Pedro did not pursue a career in entertainment like his famous parents. Instead, The New York Times reported that he is a personal trainer. However, starting in 2018, he appeared to be following in his mom's footsteps. He had a role in the short "Myles Raven" and in the 2019 thriller "Triple Frontier," which stars Ben Affleck and Oscar Issac.
Pedro acknowledged his movie star mom on Instagram when she covered the January 2021 issue of Vogue. "So incredibly thankful for everyone involved in this project of putting my MOM on the cover of @voguemagazine. I'm speechless," he wrote.

Anna Wintour's children didn't get into fashion
Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, is one of the most influential figures in fashion, so it's surprising to learn that her children did not grow up to become just like their mother. However, her children, a son named Charles and a daughter named Bee, who she shares with her ex-husband, David Shaffer, attend major fashion events like the Met Gala.
According to Closer Weekly, Wintour and Shaffer were married for 15 years before divorcing in 1999. Their son, Charles Shaffer, followed in his father's footsteps and became a doctor. Brain & Behavior Research Foundation lists Wintour's former spouse as the Irving Philips Professor of Child Psychiatry & Professor of Psychiatry & Pediatrics at The College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University. As for Charles, his bio reads that he is a doctor specializing in adult psychiatry and is an assistant professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Attending Psychiatrist at Weill Cornell.
Wintour's daughter Bee once shared with Teen Vogue that she didn't develop a love for fashion like her mother. "I kind of wear the same thing all the time, or it's so cliche to say it, but like, jeans and T-shirts." However, she did tell the magazine that she looked into a career in journalism like her mother and grandfather, Charles Wintour, who was the editor-in-chief for the London Evening Standard. Bee later worked as a producer on "Late Night with Seth Meyers." Page Six reported that she is at Ambassador Theatre Group.

Teresa Giudice has been a cast member on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" since its first season in 2009. Fans watched as her four daughters, who she shares with ex-husband Joe Giudice, grew up to become young adults, with her eldest daughter, Gia Giudice, preparing to pursue a career outside of television.
According to People, Gia will work with virtual immigration lawyer Kathleen Martinez, who shared the news in a TikTok video, calling Gia "the next generation." In the comments section, Martinez wrote that Gia "wants to help immigrants more than people realize; her heart is so big for that." Gia has previously shared that she wants to attend law school when she finishes her undergrad at Rutgers University with hopes of becoming a lawyer.
Her dreams of helping immigrants may come from the fact that her father was deported to Italy in 2018 following a 41-month prison sentence in the U.S. for fraud. Joe has been fighting to get back into the U.S.; however, his latest deportation appeal, which was his third in 2020, was denied. Bravo reported that in 2021, Joe moved to the Bahamas, making it an easier trip for his daughters to visit him.
Jeffrey Tambor's daughter is a professor
Actor Jeffrey Tambor, known for his role as George Bluth Sr. in "Arrested Development," faced plenty of criticism when he welcomed twin boys named Hugo and Eli with his wife, Kasia Ostlun, in 2009. At 66, many believed Tambor was too old to become a father. However, he told People that he was able to brush off the negative comments, "If I counted on the sensitivity of the Internet public, I would be in trouble. Otherwise, you just go on. I don't know what else to do." Tambor and his wife also welcomed a son named Gabriel in 2004 and a daughter named Eve, in 2006, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Tambor has one other daughter from a previous marriage, much older than her half-siblings. According to the New York Post, the actor shares a daughter named Molly with his first wife, Joyce. Fans of the Beatles legend Paul McCartney are well aware of his children, with some becoming famous in their own right. He welcomed three children with his first wife, Linda McCartney, whom he married in 1969, and remained married until she died in 1998. Their eldest daughter Mary, is a photographer, following in her late mother's footsteps. In addition, there's Stella McCartney, who has been styling celebrities for years, and McCartney's only son, James McCartney, who sings just like his father.
According to McCartney Times, Paul also adopted Linda's daughter, Heather, from a previous marriage when she was 6 years old and raised her like his own. However, unlike her half-siblings, Heather shied away from the spotlight and focused on a career in the arts, mainly creating pottery. In 1999, she created a collection of houseware products called the Heather McCartney Houseware Collection, which included kitchenware, candles, and pillows. According to Closer Weekly, Heather continues to make pottery, and her designs can be found in several art exhibitions.
Besides his four children with Linda, McCartney is also the father to Beatrice McCartney, who was born in 2003, and who he shares with his ex-wife Heather Mills. The pair were married from 2002 to 2008. Unfortunately, the former couple ended their marriage with one of the ugliest divorces in Hollywood.
