Is Below Deck Down Under's Magda Ziomek Still With Her Boyfriend?
"Below Deck Down Under" star Magda Ziomek certainly got her co-stars' tongues wagging when it was revealed that she had a boyfriend ... but are they still together?
To recap, a few episodes into the first Australian iteration of the "Below Deck" franchise, the M/Y Thalassa crew were hot tub bound — and Ziomek and co-star Jamie Sayed wasted no time getting cozy. However, second stew Tumi Mhlongo knew something Sayed didn't. That is, Ziomek was in a relationship. In fact, Ziomek had previously told Mhlongo that the boyfriend in question was her "soulmate" (via Distractify). Granted, she quickly clarified, "For now, he's my soulmate." However, even with that disclaimer, when Mhlongo saw Ziomek getting a little too close for comfort with Sayed, she saw fit to ensure everyone was on the same page.
"Boyfriend, nothing? Okay, okay I tried," she laughed, as things started heating up (via Peacock). A few minutes later, she switched gears, telling Sayed more directly. "She has a boyfriend ... Yes, I'm sure," she revealed. That didn't sit too well with Sayed, but Ziomek didn't appear too fazed. Far from it, she quipped that a relationship shouldn't stand in the way of her having a good time. "I like to dance, I like to hug — I'm Latina," she said. As an aside, she then cleared up that she was not, in fact, Latina. "Just inside," she said.
A whole lot going on, for sure, but our question remains: Is Ziomek still with her boyfriend?
That would be a 'no'
There's no denying that Magda Ziomek and the boyfriend she left in Poland to join the cast of "Below Deck Down Under" faced some issues while she was on the show. In fact, Ziomek's stress-related missteps led to her being fired — and cracking the list of some of the most dramatic "Below Deck" franchise cast members to date. However, they've since parted ways.
Though it's not clear when they split, exactly, the last picture of them on Ziomek's Instagram was posted back in July 2021, so we're banking on it having happened sometime between the show being filmed and released. Either way, in an interview with TV Insider in April 2022, Ziomek confirmed that they'd broken up. "We're not together anymore," she said. Ziomek also hinted that the world of yachting, coupled with long-distance, played a major role — especially because, in the case of the former, Ziomek's ex could not entirely understand the new world she was a part of. "It was hard for me to explain to him because he didn't know the yachting industry," she acknowledged.
In light of their split, Ziomek also explained that, going forward, she knew she'd have to make a choice between yachting and romance. "If I'm yachting, I have to be fully focused," she pointed out. Wise words. However, something tells us she might be holding off on yachting as of late...
Magda Ziomek has moved on
In September 2022, a single Magda Ziomek featured as a guest on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" — and she made a revelation that's sure to have had Jamie Sayed smiling ... kinda. When asked who she might have considered hooking up with, if not for her relationship, the "Below Deck Down Under" star mused that she'd developed pretty good relationships with three co-stars, in particular. That would be Sayed, deckhand Benny Crawler, and fired chef Ryan McKeown, albeit "on the friend levels." Of the three, Ziomek smiled, saying that she would have picked Sayed. However, she also pointed out that he was the only single one,"so that's why Jamie." Small wins for the bosun, we guess?
That said, even if Sayed did stand a chance while both he and Ziomek were single, that ship (or, ahem, yacht) has since sailed. In January of 2023, Ziomek took to Instagram to post a sweet video of herself with a new man on vacation in the Seychelles. To say the pair seemed smitten would be a sore understatement, so we can't help but wonder if this means she plans to put yachting on hold for the time being.
If not, something tells us Jamie Sayed wouldn't be at all opposed to a second season with a single Magda Ziomek.
