Macklemore, Wife Tricia Davis Welcome Baby No. 2
Macklemore is a dad of two!
During an interview with the Dublin, Ireland radio station, Spin 1038, the "Same Love" rapper (real name Ben Haggerty) revealed that he and his wife, Tricia Davis, had secretly welcomed their second child together, a baby girl, in March 2018.
"I spent it in the hospital with my brand-new daughter who was born right before St. Patrick's Day," the 34-year-old Grammy winner said in his baby announcement when asked how he had celebrated the holiday. He also noted that this was the first time he'd talked about his daughter's birth in public.
Macklemore and Davis, who married in June 2015, had welcomed their first child, daughter Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty, in May 2015. As Nicki Swift previously reported, the pair announced that they were expecting baby no. 2 in September 2017.
"Tricia is pregnant and today we are going to find out the gender of our child," the "Marmalade" rapper said in a video on Instagram, in which he and his family stood in front of a table with a pink and blue cake. However, after cutting into it for the big gender reveal, it turned out that the cake's inside was white, rather than blue or pink to indicate the baby's sex. Macklemore then pulled out a piece of paper, which read, "Key Arena Night II," in reference to a second tour date added in Seattle.
"We're having ... a second night at Key Arena," he said, before adding, "Tricia really is pregnant, though."
In February of this year, Davis shared a snapshot of herself, which showed off her growing baby bump, revealing that her due date was near. "Final magical weeks," she wrote in the caption. "What a different experience the second time around. Less worried about everything and full confidence I can do anything. Always channeling every mother before me."
Congratulations to the happy couple!
