Summer House: Where Kyle Cooke And Carl Radke's Rocky Friendship Stands Now
Carl Radke and Kyle Cooke are more than just friends, they're co-workers, too — and we're not just talking about sharing the "Summer House" stage. As fans will know, Radke has been working for Cooke's alcohol brand, Loverboy for a few years. Here's the thing though: mixing business with pleasure is a tricky cocktail to get just right ... and based on the Season 7 trailer, it certainly seems as though viewers are about to see these two on the rocks, soon.
To recap, when Bravo released the teaser trailer for the upcoming season of "Summer House," all signs pointed to drama. And, while the drama certainly looks to be all-encompassing, a few clips pointed to tension between Radke and Cooke, specifically. First, a clip of Cooke shows the Loverboy founder complain, "He's checked out. Ever since he's been dating Lindsay, he's been doing less." Immediately after that, a clip of Radke shows the VP of sales argue, "I've been working my a** off and it's not good enough." Juxtapose right back to Cooke, and it's clear these two will come to serious blows this season. In a dinner setting, Cooke is seen yelling at Cooke that if he were to leave Loverboy, "The company won't feel a f***ing thing." Yikes.
Per Bravo's The Daily Dish, Radke's interest in engagement rings only fans the flame with Cooke during what should be a happy time in his life. Our question is, how has that affected their friendship IRL?
Surprisingly, they're good
Despite the obvious tensions, it seems as though Kyle Cooke and Carl Radke are all good now.
In an interview with Page Six, Cooke explained that while there certainly was some tension between them, at the end of the day, they've been able to work things out. "Carl and I have nothing but love and respect for one another and everyone's gonna see that," he promised the outlet. He also pointed out that if anything, seeing the two butt heads was only realistic. After all, he chimed, "It's challenging working with your wife and your best friend, so it's almost like I want to remind people that that in itself is not normal." He also noted that the added layer of reality TV played a role in their drama. "It's another level of crazy," he said.
Cooke had previously hinted that they had moved past their drama in an Instagram post, just days before the Page Six interview was published. Under a picture of himself with Radke in matching Loverboy merch, Cooke wrote, "We've come a long way — looking forward to keeping the wild ride going. xoxo." Granted, Radke has yet to like or comment on the post ... but he also hasn't posted anything himself, since before either the interview or Cooke's post, so here's hoping that's mere coincidence.
... but we're still not sure if Kyle will be in Carl's wedding
When Kyle Cooke wed Amanda Batula in 2021, it was Carl Radke who officiated the ceremony, which was also televised for "Summer House" Season 6. In stills from the nuptials last year, Radke referred to the experience in an Instagram post as "an honor and privilege." However, in light of their more recent tension, just how likely is it that Cooke will be asked to officiate Radke's wedding to Lindsay Hubbard?
Let's just say, Radke and Hubbard have kept a ton of details under wraps, so we're not entirely sure yet. However, there's a decent chance Cooke won't be officiating ... though that's not because of their drama. Back in October, Radke told People that he wouldn't be opposed to asking Cooke, but that he also had someone else in mind. "I'm working on maybe getting Andy Cohen," he mused. For what it's worth, in an interview at BravoCon the very next day, Cooke himself revealed that he would be only too happy for Cohen to take the reins. "I would not be offended if he asked someone like Andy," he shared (via Bravo). However, that's not to say he wouldn't love to be involved, should the need arise. "If he needs me, I'm there for him," he promised.
Time will tell, but in the meantime, it's good to know that these two have remained friends even after their Loverboy tensions.
