John Stamos Opens Up About Fatherhood
John Stamos is loving fatherhood!
On Thursday, April 19, 2018, the Fuller House star spoke with Entertainment Tonight while attending WE Day at the Forum in Los Angeles, where he opened up about life since becoming a new dad to son Billy earlier this month.
"I'm good. I'm a little tired. I think I've got a little poop on this suit," Stamos quipped to the publication, before revealing a tender moment he had shared with his little bundle of joy. "I woke up this morning and I sang him 'House at Pooh Corner,' the Christopher Robin [song]. I started crying. It was great."
Joking that he was "impressed" with his newborn son's "pretty good hair," the proud dad couldn't help but gush over expanding his family. "It's more beautiful than I imagined," he said. "Everything is more colorful, more exciting. Music, you know, sounds better. He's just a beautiful little boy."
Stamos went on to praise his wife, Caitlin McHugh, saying she was "so beautiful and so graceful through [the delivery], like she does life." The former Full House star added, "I mean, she just kind of breezed through. I hate to tell women, but she did it in about 20 minutes. It happens so fast and then they were like, 'Take pictures! Grab her leg!' And then it was over, but it was just beautiful."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Stamos, 54, and McHugh, 32, welcomed their first child together on Tuesday, April 10. The following Sunday, the Scream Queens actor took to Instagram to share the exciting news.
"From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son," he captioned a sweet snapshot of his baby boy lying on his chest and holding his ring finger. "Welcome Billy Stamos (named after my father) #NotJustanUncleAnymore #Overjoyed."
The happy couple, who revealed they were expecting in December of last year, have been together since early 2016. They tied the knot in February 2018 following a five-month engagement.
