Tim Allen Once Made A Risque Remark About Miranda Lambert To Blake Shelton

Ahh, the halcyon days of 2012. "The Hunger Games" was just starting its big screen domination, "Gangnam Style" was the dance of the moment, and Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were still the happily ever country couple everyone thought would go the distance.

Of course, we know the two didn't exactly work out in the long run. They tied the knot in 2011 but things were all over by 2015, with the seemingly happy couple shocking the world when they — seemingly without warning — announced not only were they splitting, but they were already very near the end of divorce proceedings. "This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately," the twosome said in a joint statement shared by Us Weekly, mere hours before the divorce was finalized. "We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends, and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter," they added.

Both went on to find love again (Shelton is happily married to Gwen Stefani while Lambert is loved up with Brendan McLoughlin), but before all that went down, we're throwing it back to a time these two were still enjoying wedded bliss without a care in the world... probably until Tim Allen came along, that is.

Tim Allen told Blake Shelton he wanted to sleep with Miranda Lambert

It turns out Tim Allen had no filter when it came to, well, telling Blake Shelton he wanted to sleep with his wife. This all went down at the 2012 CMA Awards when Allen was sitting behind Shelton, who was blocking his view of the stage. Allen admitted on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that year that he was pretty annoyed he couldn't see around the super tall country singer, but forgave him because he's a fan of "The Voice". But that's not the awkward part. Oh no. Cue Lambert taking to the stage.

"A woman comes up, and you probably know this, and everybody else knows it, but I didn't know this... Miranda Lambert," he recalled. "So she's up there rocking out with the crazy one, some song about her being nuts and tattoos and booze. I was like, 'I love this woman' and [Shelton] turns around and says 'Boy, I'd love to tap that' and I said 'Me too!' And then I get that look," Allen continued, admitting he had no idea Shelton and Lambert were married. "And he goes, 'That's my wife!' And like a comic, I said, 'Let me finish...' So yeah, we haven't spoken since... but she's really good."" Awks.

The thing that probably only made things even more awkward? Allen, alongside Reba McEntire, ended up presenting Shelton with his Entertainer of the Year award that night. Double awks.

Tim Allen has quite the history with country stars

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert don't appear to have spoken about the Tim Allen incident publicly, though it thankfully doesn't always end in disaster when Allen speaks to the spouse of a country star. As you'll likely already know, Allen has quite the close relationship with Tom Hanks, husband to country singer Rita Wilson. The two voiced Woody and Buzz Lightyear in the "Toy Story" movies, and Allen revealed on "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in November 2022 that their friendship goes way beyond the voiceover booth. "Tom and I really became close friends from 'Toy Story 1.' He's a very different person than me and he eats off my plate. I come from a family, you don't do that," he joked.

But Wilson and Hanks aren't the only connection the actor has to the country music world. Allen has regularly dabbled in the world of country music in pretty much every way he can (aside from actually singing country music, of course), as he's been in the presence of quite a few big stars of the genre over the years. In fact, back in 1996, none other than Alan Jackson appeared in Allen's sitcom "Home Improvement" to perform his take on K.C. Douglas' "Mercury Blues."

Who knew Tim Allen was so country connected?
