What We Know About Dak Prescott's Girlfriend, Natalie Buffett
Dak Prescott has had his share of highs and lows over the past few years. Undoubtedly, one of the highs is his stellar career. According to CNN, Prescott was a fourth-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys during the 2016 NFL draft. However, despite getting off to a mediocre start as a pro, he quickly accelerated.
By the end of the 2020 season, Prescott had all the top teams scrabbling to sign him, but the Cowboys came out top. Per the Bleacher Report, the team hashed out a whopping $31.4 million agreement for their prized possession. A year later and things were even brighter for Prescott. ESPN reports the Cowboys re-signed him on a $164 million 6-year extension with a $66 million upfront payment. Forbes notes that Prescott broke the NFL's record for "most lucrative signing bonus" in history.
Dak Prescott seems to keep his love life low-key. The athlete was linked to the Instagram model Lauren Holley for a while; she was a regular in the stands and on the pitch post-game, per Sports Gossip. Still, the couple never publicly confirmed that they were dating, and their relationship remained only a rumor. But Prescott's now officially taken after falling head-over-heels for a super-smart blonde beauty. Here's what we know about Dak Prescott's girlfriend, Natalie Buffett.
Things are getting serious between Dak Prescott and Natalie Buffett
Thanks to his million-dollar deals with the Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott's financial worth has skyrocketed to an eye-watering $60 million, making him quite the catch, per Celebrity Net Worth. However, Prescott only has eyes for one lady — his girlfriend Natalie Buffett. People reports that the couple went Instagram official in July 2020. "Happy birthday babe!" Buffett captioned a cute pic of the two of them together. She's since posted multiple photos of her and the NFL star, including a photo of them on the NFL Honors red carpet in February 2022. "The best date," she captioned the shot. And, things have gotten pretty heavy between the two, with them sharing a house and four dogs.
Buffett, an Instagram model, and influencer, isn't just a pretty face. According to her LinkedIn, she graduated from Southern Methodist with a civil engineering degree and has been "director of content creation and strategy" for Oxe Fit, Dallas, Texas, since 2021.
She's also been there for her baller boo through thick and thin, injuries and all. ESPN reports that Prescott suffered a "gruesome" injury in October 2020, including a compact fracture and dislocation of his right ankle. Then, in September 2022, he was forced to sit out four games following a thumb injury, per The Athletic. The most challenging time of all for the couple, though, was getting through the tragic death of the NFL star's brother, Jace Prescott.
Natalie Buffett was there for Dak Prescott during the tragedy of his brother's death
The truth of how Dak Prescott's brother died remained a mystery for months. Jace Prescott was only 31 when he passed away. The situation became more heartbreaking after Dak revealed his sibling took his own life. During an interview with "In Depth with Graham Bensinger" (via CBS Sports) Dak was asked how he responded when his father broke the news to him. "Obviously tears and tears and tears," he replied. "I mean, I sat there and tried to gather what had happened, and wanted to ask why for so many reasons."
According to Fox 4 News Dak explained that Jace had struggled to come to terms with the 2013 death of their mom from colon cancer. He admitted that his big brother's passing had profoundly impacted him, resulting in him suffering bouts of depression and anxiety. Dak said he hoped that sharing his story would encourage others to seek help.
"Because our adversities, our struggles, what we go through is always gonna be too much for ourselves and maybe too much for even one or two people," he said. "But never too much for a community or too much for people in the family that you love. So you have to share these things."
