Here's Where Stassi Schroeder Stands With Lisa Vanderpump Today
Former "Vanderpump Rules" star Stassi Schroeder's relationship with Lisa Vanderpump has always been a bit complicated. Schroeder once admitted to Buzzfeed that she lied on her resume to get hired as a server at SUR, the West Hollywood restaurant featured on Vanderpump's Bravo reality show. It didn't hurt that Schroeder was also friends with Vanderpump's daughter, Pandora Vanderpump-Sabo, which helped keep her on the restaurateur's radar. When Schroeder briefly left "Vanderpump Rules" at the end of Season 3, she was most worried about Vanderpump's reaction. "Lisa, she has a way with words and she definitely knows how to put someone into their place," Schroeder told The Daily Dish in 2016. "I just want everything to be easy, and whatever kind of relationship she wants or doesn't want, it's fine."
Schroeder returned to the show, and when she got engaged to her now-husband Beau Clark in 2019, Vanderpump even threw the couple an elaborate engagement celebration at her Villa Rosa estate. However, the following year, the SUR boss had little pull when her former staffer was caught in a scandal involving past racially insensitive actions. The controversy resulted in Schroeder's firing from "Vanderpump Rules."
"I think it's sad, really, what happened, because I do think that people can learn from their mistakes, and I'm all about that," Vanderpump told Entertainment Tonight in August 2020, adding that if it had been up to her, Schroeder would have stayed on the show to document what she learned from the scandal. "I just think that all this knee-jerk reaction of cancel culture to me is so frustrating," Vanderpump later said in a video interview with Us Weekly. "Like come on guys, people make mistakes."
Lisa Vanderpump called out Stassi Schroeder for not returning her calls
After Stassi Schroeder was let go from "Vanderpump Rules," she holed up at her Hollywood Hills home for two reasons: the pandemic and pregnancy. In her book, "Off With My Head: The Definitive Basic B—- Handbook to Surviving Rock Bottom," the Louisiana native revealed that her pregnancy news was leaked to the public just after she was fired.
In August 2020, Lisa Vanderpump told Entertainment Tonight that she had "reached out to Stassi two or three times" and hadn't heard back from her. One year later, told Us Weekly that she finally ran into Schroeder in person. "I actually ran into her," Vanderpump told the outlet in August 2021. ""I did say, 'Yes, I called you [...] and I've called you and reached out to you.' And she said 'Yes, yes you did.' She was very friendly."
Several months later, Schroeder told the "Morning Toast" podcast an update on her relationship with her former boss. "We're friendly when we see each other but it's not anything really more than that," the former bar star said.
Stassi Schroeder and Lisa Vanderpump reunited several times in late 2022
While they no longer work together at SUR or on "Vanderpump Rules," Lisa Vanderpump and Stassi Schroeder still have Pandora Vanderpump-Sabo in common. Vanderpump's daughter has a toddler son who was born the same year as Schroeder's daughter, Hartford.
In November 2022, Page Six shared a video of Schroeder and her daughter attending Vanderpump's grandson's teddy bear-themed birthday party at her Villa Rosa estate. In the video, little Hartford was playfully running away from Vanderpump as she tried to talk to her. The cute clip came two months after Schroeder and Vanderpump reunited at the Summer Spectacular Benefiting the Brent Shapiro Foundation, as seen in photos from the charity event.
While speaking on "The Skinny Confidential Him & Her" podcast in 2022, Schroeder revealed that every time she has seen Vanderpump since her "Vanderpump Rules" exit, it's been "a very lovely conversation." "[We were] as close as a boss can be with someone," she explained of their relationship. "If I run into her, it's a nice experience and I enjoy running into her."
