What Happened To Uche And Clinton From Are You The One?
In Season 6 of MTV Reality's "Are You The One?" contestant Nicole Spiller described Uche Nwosu and Clinton Moxam as "America's, like, sweethearts." However, in an unbelievable twist, the show's Truth Booth revealed that they were not, in fact, a match. Still, by the end of the season, they were going strong, proving that, sometimes, technology is not the best way to determine real-life chemistry. Having said that, several years have passed since their season aired. So, what's their relationship status today?
To recap, when Nwosu and Moxam first met on the set of "Are You The One?" they seemed to embody the phrase "love at first sight." In fact, the rest of the cast was so confident they were perfect for each other that ahead of their journey to the Truth Booth, fellow contestant Tyler Colon quipped, "If they're not a match, we should burn the house down." Much to everyone's shock, though, that turned out not to be the case — at least, not according to the tech used on the show.
Despite that, Nwosu and Moxam's love story continued — even when that caused drama. For starters, Jada Allen was infuriated by the fact that Nwosu was upset by her getting closer to Moxam, complaining in one confessional, "He's not your match ... That could be me" (via MTV Reality). Drama aside, as noted by HollywoodLife, in the season finale, they became an official couple. Now a number of years on, though, are they still on?
Clinton and Uche have shared major milestones on their YouTube channel
Luckily for those who couldn't get enough of Uche Nwosu and Clinton Moxam on "Are You The One?" these two have hardly kept a keep a low profile, post-show. Far from it, a few months after the dating series' reunion episode aired, they started their own YouTube channel titled "Uche & Clinton."
Though their first few episodes focused on their experiences on the show, they've since gone on to document their day-to-day life as a couple, from yoga challenges to travel vlogs ... oh, and some pretty major relationship milestones, too. Exhibit A: their 2020 engagement. Yep! The couple who didn't match on the show became engaged, and posted a video featuring the build-up and the proposal itself in November. Granted, fans already knew of the engagement before the vlog came out, as the proposal itself happened in June. At the time, Nwosu shared their engagement photos in a sweet yet sassy Instagram post, captioning it with the hashtag "#nomatch."
It's safe to say friends, family, fans, and former co-stars alike couldn't have been happier for the couple. Among the thousands of well-wishes under the photo dump, one fan reminded Nwosu of what Nicole Spiller had said on the show, about them being, "America's sweethearts." Making the moment all the more adorable, Spiller herself responded, writing, "I still stand by my statement!!!" A full-circle moment for the star-crossed lovers, if ever there was one.
In 2021, Clinton and Uche officially became husband and wife
Once engaged, Uche Nwosu and Clinton Moxam wasted no time in planning their nuptials. Just over a year after Moxam got down on one knee, the "Are You The One?" alums wed on September 4, 2021 — and just in case the date sounded familiar, Nwosu was quick to confirm any suspicions. "Did we purposely make our wedding on Beyoncé's birthday? The world may never know. (Also, yes)," she wrote on Instagram.
The couple went all out for their big day(s), with Nwosu sharing photos to Instagram from both their traditional Nigerian wedding and their western ceremony, held the next day — and it probably goes without saying that the festivities were unforgettable. In fact, several months after saying they're 'I do's,' Nwosu gushed that she was still excited every time she saw picturess from their ceremonies. "Every month I see new photos ... and I just hope that never stops," she wrote. And, in honor of their first anniversary, she described their wedding as "the best day of my entire life." She also made sure to give Queen Bey another shoutout. "Happy birthday babe, so grateful to share this special day with you xx," she joked.
So, what happened to Uche Nwosu and Clinton Moxam after "Are You The One?" Well, they couldn't be happier — official match, or not.
