What We Know About Morgan Wallen And HARDY's Friendship
On December 10, 2022, country singer Morgan Wallen dropped part of an unreleased track titled "Whiskey Friends" on Instagram and sent his fans into a frenzy. "Not one bad song can you write or sing!!!!" one user gushed in the comments section along with four fire emojis. Meanwhile, another wrote, "When is this song going to drop? I literally listen to this sample daily! Love it! I need the full song."
While the teaser prompted many fans to plead for the real-deal version, it also begged the question: who are Wallen's real-life whiskey friends anyway? It's safe to say we probably don't know all of Wallen's closest pals, but we do know that singer-songwriter Hardy lands somewhere on that list — probably toward the top. But just how close are Wallen and the "One Beer" crooner? Here's everything we know about Wallen and Hardy's bromance...
Morgan Wallen and Hardy met on the road
The story goes that Morgan Wallen and Hardy met while Wallen was touring with country music duo Florida Georgia Line and Hardy just so happened to be on the same tour bus helping write songs along the way. And the rest is simply history.
"It was very organic; we just hit it off," Hardy told Hook & Barrel Magazine in 2019. "Morgan's a good guy. He's a hard worker and incredibly talented. We could have fun anywhere."
Fortunately, the feeling was mutual. "He is one of my best friends in the business and also in the world. It seems like God has put us together. He's one of the most talented people I've ever met, and a lot of other people would say the same thing," Wallen told the publication about the pair's budding bromance. Still, the pals do have their fair share of differences — specifically when it comes to their favorite pastime: fishing. "He likes the rivers, but I mostly fish in the lake," Wallen revealed. "I prefer going early in the morning, in that peaceful time when it's still a little cool out, and I can see the sunrise. It helps me to clear my head."
Morgan Wallen attended Hardy's wedding
There's also one more glaring difference between the two buddies. Hardy is now a married man, and Morgan Wallen is still living the life of a footloose and fancy-free bachelor.
As reported by People, Hardy tied the knot to Caleigh Ryan in a lavish affair in Nashville on October 29, 2022. And while many expected to see Wallen standing alongside Hardy on the big day as one of his groomsmen, as it turns out, Wallen attended the festivities as simply one of the 350 guests. Fortunately, Wallen's absence from the bridal party is not indicative of how close the two pals are. "That's no disrespect to him, he knows," Hardy explained during an interview with Audacy hosts Gunner and Cheyenne. "He and I are very good friends, but I just have a really, really solid group of buddies that I have known and loved forever. So, I have a really small [bridal party] but Morgan [Wallen] is truly... literally is like my brother. He'll be at the wedding, no doubt," he added.
And there ya have it, folks! Although Hardy is now happily married, it doesn't appear that this bromance will fizzle out anytime soon!
