Here's Who Gave Paris Hilton Her Most Expensive Engagement Ring
Paris Hilton was engaged three times before walking down the aisle with her now-husband Carter Reum, per Distractify. It's no wonder men flocked to the former reality television star. Although she portrayed herself as a ditsy blonde in "The Simple Life," Hilton has proven she has brains and beauty. While she's an heiress of a real-estate empire, the international DJ made a name and fortune of her own.
Naturally, the high-profile socialite dated many famous faces over the years. When she was just 20, Hilton and model Jason Shaw got engaged, only to split up a year later. Hilton's next engagement was to a fellow socialite of the same name, Paris Latsis. However, like her first betrothal, this one only lasted about a year.
Hilton's next engagement to actor Chris Zylka seemed more promising. The two started dating in 2017 and he proposed in January 2018. At the time, Hilton called Zylka her "best friend & soulmate," only to break up with him in 2018, per Us Weekly. Following their split, the "Stars Are Blind" singer started dating Reum and the rest is history. With four well-to-do men who have asked for her hand in marriage, Hilton's ring collection must be pretty impressive, and many are curious to know who dropped the most dough on his proposal.
Paris Hilton's ring from Paris Latsis cost almost $5 million
When Paris Latsis proposed to Paris Hilton in May 2005, he reportedly gave her 15 engagement rings to choose from, per E! News. Hilton ended up picking a 24-carat canary yellow diamond bauble that was estimated at $4.7 million, according to rumors. However, she later revealed to Vanity Fair that she planned to have the ring replaced. "I like it but it's yellow, and I'm like, I didn't want yellow for my engagement ring. I just needed something to wear until I get it," she shared. Her replacement ring was to be a 24-carat piece that was estimated to be more than $2 million.
The two Parises broke up just months after their engagement. Hilton's reason for dumping Latsis was that she didn't want to get married at 24 years old, per CBC. "I feel I'm just not ready for marriage," she stated at the time. However, she went on to say that she loves him and they will be friends "forever." As for the $4.7 ring, Hilton put it to good use and auctioned it off to help Hurricane Katrina victims, InStyle reported.
Hilton's ring from her now-husband Carter Reum was much more modest, but still impressive as engagement rings go, and he enlisted the help of a special person to get it just right.
Carter Reum chose the perfect ring for Paris Hilton
While Carter Reum's engagement ring for Paris Hilton wasn't her most expensive, he put thought and care into choosing the perfect one. Wanting to get it just right, he enlisted the help of the great-great-grandson of famous jeweler Louis-Francois Cartier to design a ring for Hilton, per Brides. The ring, which was estimated to be over $1 million, features a 10-20 carat emerald-cut diamond surrounded by two smaller stones on each side.
Reum proposed to Hilton on a private island while they were celebrating the socialite's 40th birthday. "When you find your soulmate, you don't just know it. You feel it. My love & I have been together since our first date, and for my birthday, he arranged a special trip to tropical paradise," she shared on Instagram. She went on to describe how Reum led her to a cabana on the beach and dropped down on his knee to propose.
Unlike her other engagements, Hilton made it down the aisle with Reum on November 11, 2021, per People. The two tied the knot at Hilton's family home in Bel Air, and the whole wedding process was documented on "Paris in Love." Although it took three failed engagements, the hotel heiress finally found love with her "missing piece."
