Anna Faris Isn't Sure She Still Believes In Marriage Following Chris Pratt Split
Anna Faris is sharing her views on marriage.
On Monday, March 26, 2018, the Mom star revealed that she might not want to walk down the aisle again following her highly publicized divorce from Chris Pratt during an appearance on Dax Shepard's podcast, Armchair Expert.
"We had an unbelievable marriage and we have a great friendship now," Faris said of her amicable split from Pratt, with whom she co-parents 5-year-old son Jack. "And we love our son to death, and I'm really proud of that, because I'm not sure I did that well the first time." The actress was previously married to Ben Indra between 2004 and 2008.
On marriage, she added, "I am a romantic. I believe in a partnership, I believe in companionship. I just don't know if I believe in a ceremony of a wedding."
"I need to figure out what the purpose is," Faris continued. "Is it safety for your children? Is it convention? Is it so other people respect your relationship more? For me, I'm just not quite sure where it fits."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Faris, 41, and Pratt, 38, announced their separation in August 2017 after eight years of marriage. "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating," the two wrote on Facebook. "We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward."
Their statement continued, "We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."
In December of that year, Faris and her Parks and Recreation star ex filed for divorce at the same time. Citing irreconcilable differences, both asked for joint custody of their son.
Since the former couple officially called it quits, Faris has been spotted with cinematographer Michael Barrett. The two reportedly met while working on the film Overboard.
