Everyone Who's Dated On Below Deck
It's the world of luxury boats and exquisite views, where no guest request is too outrageous and romances come and go like the ocean tides. We're referring to Bravo's hit franchise "Below Deck," which has captivated the world and morphed into multiple spinoffs that draw millions of viewers each season. The docu-series follows life onboard a charter yacht from the crew's perspective, complete with all the drama that comes from catering to demanding guests. It's a reality show unlike any other, detailing the lives of carefree yachties whose lives fit inside their backpacks.
No reality series is complete without its fair share of romance, and "Below Deck" is no different. The crew almost always finds themselves blowing off steam from work in more ways than one, and it often includes hooking up with each other. Despite the romances that come and go season after season, one thing remains true — not many ever last. After various spinoffs and hundreds of episodes, there's a never-ending list of cast members who have dated on the show. We've compiled a list of some of the most noteworthy relationships out of everyone who's dated on "Below Deck."
Eddie Lucas and Rocky Dakota's laundry love
The first official "Below Deck" romance that fans know of is the Season 3 relationship between Rocky Dakota and Eddie Lucas. The two met on board "Eros" where they shacked up in the laundry room multiple times. "It was three times in the laundry room, one time in the restroom, and we kept it under wraps," Dakota said on the show. Though they managed to keep their romance under wraps for the most part of the charter season, the production team ultimately caught on to their extracurricular activities. Thanks to their secret rendezvous, cameras were installed in all future laundry rooms on "Below Deck" yachts. "They ruined it for everyone," Kate admitted on an episode of The Daily Dish. "This is why we can't have nice things."
Lucas had a girlfriend back home during the season, and his conscience eventually crept up on him. His feelings towards Dakota turned sour and he ghosted her, causing Dakota to lash out and spill their romance tea to the rest of the crew. Lucas told Showbiz Cheatsheet that the regrets he had on Season 3 caused him to take a five-year hiatus from the show, returning again for Season 8 and Season 9. "I felt like I had learned a lot over the past five years from the mistakes I've made," Lucas told the outlet in 2021. After Lucas called out Bravo for the "Below Deck" cast member salary, he's yet to return to the franchise.
Emily Warburton-Adams and Ben Robinson's endearing romance
One of the show's sweeter romances was between Chef Ben Robinson and Stew Emily Warburton-Adams during Season 4. "There's just something about him that called me," Warburton-Adams said on a Life After Bravo segment. "Going on a date with him and things like that, I felt very close to him very quickly. He was British and he made me laugh, and I do like an older guy," she gushed, adding, "and he made me my food. It was a real perk." Viewers saw Robinson head over heels for his coworker during the season even leaving a bouquet of flowers in her bunk. Warburton-Adams told Bravo that their relationship was as real as any other, with the slight exception that it was filmed for TV.
Their on-deck romance continued on land as well, with Robinson confirming to The Daily Dish after the season wrapped that they were still going strong in December 2016. Their romance didn't last, however, and the chef revealed on Kate Chastain's "After Deck" podcast that they had called it quits by October 2017. "I can't exactly exclaim that we're steady and dating at this point in time," he explained. "We just don't see each other enough to have a serious relationship." Robinson went on to reveal that they each have a special place for each other in their hearts. "She does fly out to see me and I saw her in London a few months ago — actually," he told People in 2019.
Malia White and Wes Walton are still 'good friends'
Malia White has had her fair show of romances onboard, but none were as dramatic as her love triangle with Wes Walton and Chef Adam Glick during Season 2 of "Below Deck Mediterranean." At the time, White was a green deckhand who caught the eye of pretty much all of her male coworkers. "So every single one of us was into her [except for Max Hagley, who had a girlfriend] ... Everyone was vying for Malia," Glick told Bravo.
The drama came to a head during their season when Glick developed feelings for White after they had hung out before filming began. White spilled the details about it on The Daily Dish, explaining that she had known the chef for about a week before the season began. Though she did admit to kissing Glick, the two were on separate wavelengths when it came to their future. "I started to realize like, 'Oh wow, this guy is far more invested in this than I thought,'" White shared, "he was latching on to something that wasn't actually there."
Glick eventually confronted Walton while filming after he saw him and White getting closer on deck. White ultimately chose Walton over the chef and the two attempted to make it work after Season 2 wrapped. Though they were seen together in many Instagram snaps alongside other cast members throughout 2017, they ultimately decided to remain on good terms. "We're still good friends. He keeps me updated with his travels, and I tell him about mine," White told The Daily Dish.
Dani Soares and Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux's baby drama
Boats and babies aren't two things you'd typically put in the same sentence — unless you're "Below Deck" cast members Dani Soares and Jean-Luc Lanaux. The pair started hooking up after a game of truth or dare onboard Parsifal III during Season 2 of "Below Deck Sailing Yacht" and sparks flew between the couple. They got closer as the season went on, but Soares struggled with the fact that Lanaux was much younger, and possibly not ready for the type of commitment she needed. Soares even famously said, "I want to have babies, I want to get married," in a June 2021 episode, adding, "Let's have sex tonight. And if I get pregnant? That's God's will." It was God's will, apparently, as Soares revealed in April 2021 that she was expecting her first child.
"Below Deck" fans immediately started questioning whether or not her fling with Lanaux resulted in the pregnancy. The mother admitted in a teaser clip for the Season 2 Reunion that Lanaux didn't believe he was the father. "He doesn't want to have anything to do with it," she confessed. Lanaux ultimately accepted some sort of responsibility after a paternity test, writing on Instagram, "An international DNA test that was done awhile ago was no small feat. I'm happy and proud to say sweet and beautiful Lilly rose is my daughter." As of this writing, he's yet to post any photos of or with his child.
Gary King and Sydney Zaruba's doomed romance
Bosun Gary King definitely knows a thing or two about being his own worst enemy. Ladies are his kryptonite, and his fleeting romances typically blow up in his face. That's exactly what happened in Season 2 of "Below Deck Sailing Yacht," when King hooked up with his deckhand Sydney Zaruba and then proceeded to date one of the stews onboard, Alli Dore. The drama heated up even more when Zaruba got jealous she was ultimately cast aside after her night in the guest cabin with King and proceeded to lash out at Dore throughout the season.
Though the damage seemed to be too deep for repair in terms of Dore's friendship with Zaruba, she had more tea to spill about King. "I don't know why everyone's just sleeping over the fact that Gary had a girlfriend when he came on board, and Sydney slept with him. A long-term girlfriend. There, I've said it," Dore admitted on The Daily Dish. King shared that he ultimately came clean to his girlfriend back home. "Why have a girlfriend if you're not gonna be able to be with her 24/7, and clearly, I wasn't that type of person for her. And I proved it in the completely wrong way," he shared.
As for King's feelings for Dore, it wasn't meant to be. "It was inevitable that she was always leaving to Australia, so I think in both of our minds, in the back of our minds, we knew it would never seriously work because of that," he admitted.
Robert Westergaard and Jessica More 'destroyed' their relationship
Jessica More and Robert Westergaard's relationship burned out about as quickly as it came together. The pair found themselves in a tumultuous relationship on Season 5 of "Below Deck Mediterranean," which involved bouts of jealousy when Stew Aesha Scott arrived to join the crew later in the season. More was less than thrilled when she accused Scott of grabbing Westergaard's butt during a group photo. The two ended up making it work throughout the season despite their ups and downs but ultimately called it quits after their trip to Bali. "Um, well, I mean, I think in total, Rob and I were together for about six months in a serious relationship and basically together every day." More told Bravo. "It was definitely a roller coaster with him," she confessed. "I've never felt that sort of affection and attention and love — and then also the polar opposite."
Westergaard admitted they were each other's downfall. "We understood how to hurt each other. Ultimately, at the end, we both destroyed the relationship." The deckhand went on to take accountability for his trust issues, and admit that he loves More and she will always have a special place in his heart.
"It just keeps seeming to build, my disappointment for somebody that I really, truly cared about and loved and thought that I was gonna marry and spend the rest of my life with," More shared for her part. The stew gave birth to her first child Charli in 2022, and no — Westergaard isn't the father.
Elizabeth Frankini and James Hough whirlwind romance
Elizabeth Frankini and James Hough seemed to be on two separate pages during Season 8 of "Below Deck." Frankini fell hard for the deckhand's charm — and the two even spent the night together in the off-limits guest cabin. The pair faced a boatload of criticism for the decision, which was rehashed during the cast's virtual reunion. "I knew we were going to get in trouble, but it was just balancing out the risk and the reward," said Hough, who added it was "100 percent worth it" when Andy Cohen asked if he had regrets, noting that they had a "a good nights' sleep in the guest cabin."
Frankini felt their guest-cabin rendezvous deserved a conversation about where their romance was going, but Hough attempted to dodge her advances. "I wanted to ask you what your feelings were, where you're at," Frankini says, to which Hough questions her, "Do you believe in long-distance relationships?" The stew then quips back, "I'm not trying to come and move in with you or something," adding, "but the chances of me just being open to traveling and having a new adventure is pretty high, 'cause that's just kinda how I roll!"
Though their relationship ended onboard the yacht, the two did get a sympathy nod from "Below Deck" alum Kate Chastain. "I seriously can't even count how many times I've slept in a guest cabin," Chastain tweeted.
Ashley Marti's love triangle
Gary King was the object of almost all the female affection onboard Parsifal III during Season 3 of "Below Deck Sailing Yacht." Ashley Marti, however, wasn't about to go down without a fight. The third stew tells her coworker Gabriela Barragan in a preview clip that she's "just really having horny problems, and they're not gonna go away." King then appears, quipping, "Is it 'cause I've got such a nice personality, I'm like a magnet to you?" When Barragan jokes that she and her coworkers are out of his league, he responds, "I know you are, so don't kiss me again." That prompted Marti to ask if all the ladies onboard had kissed the bosun, which was true — except for deckhand Kelsie Goglia.
"This whole Gabriela, Gary situation is f**king frustrating," Ashley said in a confessional interview. "Like, I could've f**ked Gary already." But after stew Scarlett Bentley replaced Gabriela Barragan, Marti lost. Although King and Marti shared a drunken hookup, the bosun quickly moved on to making out with Bentley in the pantry.
Eventually, King did come clean about his feelings (or lack thereof) to Marti — explaining that he was interested in Bentley. When the love triangle began expanding into other shapes, chief stew Daisy Kelliher gave us the famous line, "I am trying to teach the women how to be a team, and of course, Gary and his small d–k ruin everything."
Aesha Scott and Jack Stirrup eventually fixed their friendship
Aesha Scott and Jack Stirrup seemed like a match made in heaven on "Below Deck Mediterranean" Season 4, complete with their witty banter and explicit humor. The English charmer fell hard for the stew, even asking her to be his girlfriend on board the motor yacht Sirocco. "It was a fun time and I don't regret it," Scott told Page Six, "He made doing that season that much more fun and I loved his company. It was a great time."
While their romance had all the wind in its sails on the water, it quickly died out when the two tried things out on land. Scott found out through Stirrup's on-again-off-again girlfriend Kelly Hidge that the two were back together when she was sent Instagram DMs to stop messaging Stirrup. "I'm like, 'What the f***, he's my boyfriend," Scott explained on "Watch What Happens Live" of the confusing messages. "He is a young boy at heart, and he just freaked out and ran home and ran to what he was familiar with."
Stirrup welcomed his first child with Hidge, and eventually did patch things up with Scott — thanks to a little encouragement from his former coworker Travis Michalzik. "It was actually Travis [who] set up a conversation between us where [Jack] could apologize, and I just decided to leave it there and put it in the past," Scott explained (via The Daily Dish). "Because at the end of the day, we actually did have a really good friendship."
Jenna MacGillivray and Adam Glick fault the spotlight
There's nothing like a hookup between the chief stew and the chef — and Jenna MacGillivray and Adam Glick provided just that on Season 1 of "Below Deck Sailing Yacht." They had no problem displaying PDA onboard Parsifal III, much to the dismay and cringe-worthy reactions of their fellow crew members. "I would go in in the morning and give him a kiss, and no one was there. Or I'd be doing whatever in the galley or the crew mess, he'd come over and give me a hug. Like I said on the reunion, that was when I was finished with my shift. Some people have a problem with that, I get it, but I'm also not working," MacGillivray shared on The Final Word.
Though things seemed to ice over when Glick didn't react well to MacGillivray expressing her love for the chef, the two did see each other after the season ended. MacGillivray and Glick revealed during the reunion that they went road-tripping through Greece and even visited each other's families, but the pressure from the spotlight negatively impacted their relationship. When asked if he would get back together with the chief stew, Glick replied "Well, to be 100 percent honest, I don't think that's any of you guys' business." As for MacGillivray, she revealed that the chef may not be in a place to commit. "He'll look for any kind of way to put up another wall so that he can escape intimacy and a natural connection with somebody. That's what I believe, anyway."
Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan remain friends
Paget Berry and Ciara Duggan met in 2016 before they both appeared in 2020 on Season 1 of "Below Deck Sailing Yacht." The pair seemed to weather any storm that came their way, even flirting allegations on Berry's part. Defending his actions, the deckhand dismissed his behavior as banter that comes with the territory of working on a yacht. Duggan didn't seem too ruffled that her man might have engaged in harmless flirting with another stew, and the two managed to remain together after their season ended.
The pair went on to get engaged following the show before calling it quits just nine months later. "There were a lot of reasons that it kind of broke down. Being in France, we weren't quarantining, we weren't stuck together or anything like that," Duggan told Us Weekly. "We were there just kind of living life, but you know I was taking temporary jobs and I just kind of realized throughout taking those jobs that I was happier on my own for a lot of reasons."
Duggan revealed that the two remain friends and wish the best for each other. She admitted that the relationship was ill-fated, given that she started it when she was just 18 years old, and she's never been the marrying type. As for Berry, he found love again, getting engaged to Johana Mills in August of 2022.
Natasha Webb and David White's messy dalliance
Natasha Webb and David White had already worked together and gotten close before their Season 7 debut on "Below Deck Mediterranean." Emotions ran high all charter season as White tiptoed around the fact that the two had hooked up on their previous yacht before coming onboard motor yacht Home. While the chef was ready to put it all on the line for the chief stew, Webb wanted to remain coy and hide their previous fling from their coworkers. Word eventually did get out, and it blew up so badly that White had to move out of the cabin he shared with the chief stew. It got even worse when tequila fueled White's anger about Webb getting back with her ex-boyfriend — the one she had previously cheated on when she hooked up with the chef.
The pair managed to find a level of cordiality to finish the season, but White's not convinced Webb will ditch her tendency for bad relationships. "She obviously likes toxic relationships," he admitted on "Watch What Happens Live." Webb moved on to a singer-songwriter boyfriend, sharing a written statement that read, "I'm super happy, and I'm fortunate enough to have met my lifelong soulmate and partner this year, and I just want to say that I feel so blessed for the opportunity and experience this has all given me, and I wish everyone there the best for the future to come." As for White, he revealed he was single as of November 2022.
Storm Smith and Natalya Scudder were each other's 'escape'
Storm Smith certainly found his perfect storm in Natalya Scudder aboard the motor yacht home on Season 7 of "Below Deck Mediterranean." The pair quickly fell head over heels for each other's flirty banter, and it wasn't long before the bosun was buying jewelry for the stew and teasing getting her name tattooed. "[She] provided me an escape to all the difficulties and pressure and the anxiety I had for the season, and for that I was very, very grateful," Smith shared during the reunion episode.
Scudder, who had revealed during the season that she struggled with trust issues of her own, said the relationship didn't work as the pair was in different places in life. "I think if we worked on a yacht together still, I think we would have a relationship, but he was going back to, I think, South Africa [and] I was going back to Australia. And for me in my head, I kind of already made a decision it most likely wasn't going to work due to the time and places we were going to be."
Smith found love again with a new girlfriend, who he frequently posts with on Instagram traveling around the world. "Happy birthday boks, life is f beautiful with ya," he captioned one photo alongside the brunette. Despite their relationship not working out on land, Smith and Scudder did manage to hide their hookups from cameras. "She was down in the bosun's locker a lot," Captain Sandy Yawn hinted during the reunion.
Wes O'Dell and Gabriela Barragan's off-camera love
Though they didn't appear on the same season of "Below Deck," Wes O'Dell and Gabriela Barragan found love after they both ended their time on their respective yachts. O'Nell appeared on Season 9 of "Below Deck" and charmed viewers with his easy-going personality. He had his sights on stew Jessica Albert during his season, but nothing came to fruition due to her early departure. Barragan was involved in her own fling with Gary King during Season 3 of "Below Deck Sailing Yacht," but it also fizzled out due to her leaving the yacht early.f
Barragan fell in love with O'Dell after she met him working together in St. Thomas after her season wrapped. "I now work on a sailboat and I'm the first mate on Wes's boat," she told ShowBiz CheatSheet at the time. "He's teaching me everything about sailing. And it's hard. I have been so tired. I feel like such a wuss [laughs]. It's the physical labor of being out in the sun and the salt air all day, every day, learning a bunch."
Their relationship turned from colleagues to boyfriend-girlfriend later that year when she revealed her relationship status in April of 2022. "Wes and I are dating. We've been dating for a couple of months," she said on the "Gangplank Report" podcast. "I don't think I've had a boyfriend quite as kind and patient and loving as Wes," the stew admitted. Barragan went on to share that O'Dell had been teaching her to sail and at the time was working with the stew to get her captain's license.
Brian de Saint Pern and Courtney Skippon's fleeting fling
Brian de Saint Pern and Courtney Skippon met on Season 7 of "Below Deck" in Thailand, and their tumultuous relationship was always fueled by drunken nights out. The two always seemed to be hot and cold with each other, and Skippon was less than thrilled with Pern's aggressive behavior when he got angry. The lead deckhand tried figuring out what their relationship future was over text message, despite their cabins practically being on top of one another. In one clip, Pern asks Skippon her thoughts on their status and texts her, "We're just having some fun right?" in the middle of a work day. The timing was disastrous, leading to even more tension between the two.
While they did eventually end their Thailand tryst on a good note, their relationship didn't make landfall. Though they did spend the last night together in a guest cabin, the two yachties chalked it up to a fleeting boat romance. "I'm sure she can agree that we are two very different people," Pern said on "Below Deck After Show." "To make a long-distance, serious relationship work, it would be near impossible." Skippon shared that she gave the lead deckhand an opportunity to spend more time with her after their season ended, but he instead opted to spend an extra week in Thailand with his deck crew and one of the season's charter guests. "He preferred to spend time with the boys, which is his prerogative," Courtney said. "But that's not what I look for in a partner."
Hannah Ferrier and Conrad Empson's cigarette fiasco
Hannah Ferrier and Conrad Empson's dramatic relationship played out in Season 3 of "Below Deck Mediterranean." The pair were constantly dodging Captain Sandy Yawn with their flirty interactions onboard much to her dismay about their romance. Empson fell for the chief stew's vulnerability when she let her softer side show, but ultimately their differing personalities were their downfall.
Tensions reached an all-time high after Ferrier asked the deckhand if it would bother him if she went to visit a friend on his yacht after the charter season ended, to which Empson answered no. The chief stew then asked, "As long as I don't f*** him, even if he wants to f*** me?" Empson didn't take too kindly to Ferrier trying to stir up some jealousy, and the two eventually ended their fleeting romance over a pack of cigarettes.
Empson asked Ferrier to give him the 50 euros she owed for the cigarettes he bought her, and she responded by throwing it at his feet — thus fizzling out their ill-fated relationship. "In my eyes, if you owe someone money, you owe them money, no matter if you're girlfriend or boyfriend or whatever, everything is equal and should be split. She had a different opinion on that one," Empson told Decider. As for Ferrier, she doesn't keep in touch with her former fling. She told Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live" that she hadn't spoken to Empson since they wrapped filming.
Ben Robinson and Kate Chastain love to keep fans guessing
Kate Chastain and Ben Robinson have been long-time friends — and sometimes lovers — during their time on "Below Deck." The duo fueled romance rumors between Season 2 and Season 3 when Robinson arrived as the replacement chef, and their crew members began to pick up on some flirtation between the two heads of department. "We know each other much better on a more personal level," Robinson replied when asked how their relationship had evolved since their previous season. "We hooked up a few times," the chef admitted, adding that the two are too similar to make anything last. "Ben and I are like cheesecake, it's really decadent, it's delicious — you can't eat it every day," Chastain added.
While photos like this one certainly keep fans guessing about their relationship status, the duo has always maintained they are good friends. But Chastain did admit that the chef still holds a special place in her heart, telling Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live," "My favorite is probably Ben. And that might be because we had sex."
