Who Is Angie Katsanevas On Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City?
When Bravo announced the cast of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" Season 3, they also shared that newcomer Angie Katsanevas would join the show in a "friend" role. According to her bio on Bravo, Katsanevas was introduced to the cast by Jen Shah, who has been a housewife since Season 1. Fellow housewife Heather Gay also shared that she had known Katsanevas since high school and called her the "coolest girl at the 10-year reunion."
Fans first got a glimpse of Katsanevas in Season 3 Episode 1 when she generously agreed to host Shah's husband, Sharrief Shah's birthday party. As the cameras panned to the exterior of her house, it was noticeably set high on a hill with vast views of the city. While most of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" cast members live very comfortably, it's apparent that Katsanevas wealth is pretty high up there. Although her house was prominently featured in the Season 3 premiere, Katsenavas' scenes were somewhat sparse, leaving fans curious to know more about the new "friend of."
All about Angie Katsanevas
According to her Bravo bio, Angie Katsanevas is a "business-owner, wife and mother." Bustle notes the series newcomer started her career as a hairdresser at 21 years old, which is how she met her future husband, Shawn Trujillo. Katsanevas shared that she met Trujillo when she first started cosmetology school, and he was already an established hairdresser. She worked as his assistant, and the two eventually opened up their first salon, Lunatic Fringe, in 1999. According to their website, they started with a 700-square-foot salon in Salt Lake City but have since expanded to nine locations nationwide.
As mentioned by Distractify, Katsanevas and Trujillo share a daughter, Elektra, who is 11 years old. Elektra seems to be the center of Katsanevas' world and is often featured on her Instagram. "Being Elektra's Mom has been a privilege I don't take for granted. My Mom didn't have the privilege of watching me grow up and I didn't have the privilege of growing up without a Mom. That experience taught me to value every moment in Elektra's life," she wrote of her daughter. Elektra appears to be an accomplished equestrian, and Katsanevas recently shared a picture of her winning a blue ribbon.
Angie Katsanevas tried out for RHOSLC in Season 1
As reported by the Instagram account Queens of Bravo, Angie Katsanevas was possibly considered for "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" Season 1, as indicated by a picture of her posing on a ski slope with the other housewives. However, Reality Blurb noted that Katsanevas wrote in a now-deleted post, "Did I make the cut for 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' you ask... The answer is No...But we got our matching Mommy and Me gear just in case we got the call back." Katsanevas went on to say that she should have been more open to producers about the drama at her salons and while the interview was fun, she wasn't her usual "funny self" that day.
Katsanevas' "friend" role on Season 3 of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" could be her chance at becoming a full cast member, as Jen Shah's future on the show looks bleak. According to Heavy, Shah is facing 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to a federal fraud charge. Additionally, Mary Cosby and Jennie Nguyen are no longer on the show following Season 2. So, if Katsanevas plays her cards right, she could be promoted to a full-time cast member.
