Emily Ratajkowski And Sebastian Bear-McClard Weren't Together Long Before Tying The Knot
2022 gave us plenty of rumored new couples, including Bradley Cooper and Huma Abedin, but it also dished out some heartbreaking celebrity splits. Among the casualties were Emily Ratajkowski and Sebastian Bear-McClard, who split in July after four years of marriage. At the time, Ratajkowski was spotted out and about on the streets of NYC, sans her wedding ring. Though neither party made a statement about the breakup, Page Six reported that cheating on Bear-McClard's part led to the end of their relationship. "Yeah, he cheated. He's a serial cheater. It's gross. He's a dog," a source explained. Despite not commenting on her ex-husband's behavior, Ratajkowski's response to Adam Levine's own cheating scandal spoke volumes.
A separate source reported that the model was "doing okay" in the wake of the split. "She is strong and focused on her son. She loves being a mom," they said (via People). In November, Ratajkowski appeared to move on with Hollywood's favorite rebound: Pete Davidson. Us Weekly reported that the two were "in the very early stages" of a relationship after they were spotted holding hands during a supposed date in Brooklyn. According to an insider, "Pete makes Emily laugh and he loves how intelligent she is." Both parties got together quickly since Davidson split from Kim Kardashian over the summer.
However, A-listers are always keeping us on our toes when it comes to lightning-fast breakups and make-ups! After all, the "My Body" author surprised everyone with how quickly she initially tied the knot with Bear-McClard.
Emily Ratajkowski and Sebastian Bear-McClard married weeks after they were first spotted together
Sometime between the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, Emily Ratajkowski seemingly confirmed the demise of her three-year relationship with music producer Jeff Magid by smooching Sebastian Bear-McClard in public. Photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed the two dining at La Poubelle in February 2018. That same month, Bear-McClard proposed to Ratajkowski at the NYC restaurant Minetta Tavern. On the set of "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," the "Gone Girl" actor recalled the unconventional proposal, telling the host that she'd initially declined because her husband-to-be had no ring. She only accepted after Bear-McClard used the paperclip from the dinner bill to craft a makeshift ring. Who says romance is dead?!
February continued to be a pivotal month for the pair. Only weeks after being romantically linked, Ratajkowski shocked fans by posting her marriage ceremony to her Instagram stories. "Soooo ... I have a surprise. I got married today," she announced (via Page Six), alongside a photo of her husband kissing her on the cheek. To some, it might have seemed fast — but not according to Ratajkowski, as she told Busy Philipps in a 2018 interview (via Bustle), "No, we knew each other for a long time before." She also said that Bear-McClard liked to joke she had "vetted [him] for two years" before they dated.
Emily Ratajkowski is playing the field
As for why Emily Ratajkowski chose to marry Sebastian Bear-McClard so quickly, it could have something to do with her admission of being a serial monogamist. On "Today with Hoda & Jenna," (via Newsweek), Ratajkowski spoke about how she'd jumped from one relationship to the next as a form of self-protection. "I was entering a really crazy industry and working in a really crazy industry where now I think we can accept there are a lot of predatory, scary men, and I think it was a way for me to feel safe," she explained.
As of November, however, the "Blurred Lines" star is not "putting up with s**t." Instead, she appears to be playing the field following her divorce. This includes hanging out with hunks like Brad Pitt and Pete Davidson. "People have been speculating about this for a while. Brad is not dating anybody. [Pitt and Ratajkowski] have been seen a couple times together," a source told Page Six, appearing to debunk the rumors. This contradicted a previous source, who told OK! in August that, "[Pitt] asked [Ratajkowski] out, and she said yes. She's always thought Brad was cute, and the way she saw it, what did she have to lose?" Whatever the case, the romance was short-lived, and all roads seemingly led to Davidson. "Pete and Emily have been talking for a couple months now," a source told Us Weekly, adding that they "both really like each other."
