Justin Theroux Breaks Social Media Silence Following Jennifer Aniston Split
The Leftovers star is raising awareness in the most adorable way.
On Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, Justin Theroux broke his social media silence following his recent split from Jennifer Aniston — but not quite in the way most would expect. Instead of addressing his impending divorce, the 46-year-old actor used his platform to raise awareness for the Austin Pets Alive shelter.
"Texas!!! Another very inspiring visit with the incredible people and pups @austinpetsalive," Theroux wrote on Instagram, captioning a cute snapshot of himself posing with two puppies. "I cannot understand how they do what they do, day after day, so consistently and lovingly to save so many dogs and cats."
The animal rights advocate continued, "I HIGHLY recommend going in and getting your nose bit by a toothless baby pitbull. These two aren't yet ready to go, but when they are go get em... Oh! And hey Houston! You have a Pets Alive no kill shelter there too!" He then tagged Texas native Selena Gomez in a hashtag.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Theroux and Aniston, 49, shocked fans when they revealed they were calling it quits on Thursday, Feb. 15.
"In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation," the former couple, who married in August 2015, said in a joint statement. "This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship."
The statement continued, "Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else's fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another."
Ever since their breakup announcement, both Theroux and Aniston have kept a low profile.
