Amy Schumer Marries Boyfriend Chris Fischer
No one saw this coming!
Us Weekly reports that Amy Schumer married her boyfriend, chef Chris Fischer, on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018. According to the magazine, Schumer and Fischer said their "I do's" outside of a rented house in Malibu, Calif., which had a view of the ocean. They reportedly exchanged their own vows, and an unidentified comedian officiated the surprise ceremony.
Considering Schumer's celebrity status, it should come as no surprise that there were plenty of stars at her wedding. A-listers like Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, David Spade, Larry David, Judd Apatow, and Jake Gyllenhaal were all present for Schumer's big day. The Blast speculates that Jerry Seinfeld may also have been there, as he was spotted in the area earlier in the week. All in all, it's said that there were about 80 people present.
Unfortunately, no one should expect to see any photos from the wedding unless Schumer shares them herself. According to Us Weekly, there was a strict no-photos policy in effect during the ceremony.
However, that doesn't mean that there's no info about Schumer and Fischer's wedding day. "It was a very chill wedding. It was thrown together last minute," a source told Us Weekly. "Most of the guests found out the wedding was happening on Tuesday from a text message sent out by Amy on Sunday. It was like, 'Hey, this is happening. If you can make it, great. If not, no worries.' People were in and out all night. It was a gorgeous day. Everyone was having a good time."
The Blast notes that there was a seafood bar at the reception.
Schumer and Fischer's wedding comes just days after the pair went public with their relationship on social media. On Sunday, Feb. 11, Schumer posted a photo booth picture of her and Fischer sharing a kiss on Instagram. She and Fischer had only been spotted together in public twice before the post — while having dinner in New York City in November 2017 and while attending Jessica Chastain's Saturday Night Live show in January 2018.
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Schumer and her ex-boyfriend, Ben Hanisch, called it quits on their relationship in May 2017. The two had dated for a year and a half, after meeting via a dating app.
"Amy and Ben have ended their relationship after thoughtful consideration and remain friends," a rep for Schumer said at the time.
Congratulations to Schumer and Fischer on their marriage!
